It's one of those you can leave on in the background and have a check every 10 mins (and see that not much has changed). Another Aussie gold, or have they done too much of the pace setting?

I watched it at the serpentine in London 2012. Gloriously hot day so nice trip to the park but you don't get to see much of the race except when they swim past every 30 minutes.

Yeah, we did the Triathlon there too, but mainly positioned for the cycling. At least when they do go past in the swimming it's not a blur.

The overtaking manoeuvres aren't quite as exciting, but appreciate the tactics there of fighting the stronger current to cut off 5m at the turn and pinch a lead.

Oh ****, that move was bang at the death, super clever by the Dutch. Gutting for the aussie.

Wish all of them good health for the next couple weeks after spending so long in the Seine though.

The Aussie largely set it up for her, allowed her to draft pretty much the whole 10k then got done at the end. But she is the World Champion so not exactly a surprise result.

And yeah, hope none of this lot turn up in the Obituary Thread!!

I've heard that the Australian team at least has told everyone who takes a dunk to take prophylactic antibiotics against E Coli just in case as a precaution.

Disappointing fade out by our girl but not much disgrace in silver. Shades of the East Indies with that late overtake by the Dutch though.

Hardly seen any Olympic action last couple of days, busy at work and stuff after but I did see the Team pursuit, one of the best races I've ever seen, so close all the way and GB cracked. Well done Australia, some performance that. Top class sport like that is what's it about.

So no one is getting anywhere near Garnbret in the climbing, right? Obviously anything can happen, but...

The Dutch are having a great Olympics, up to 10 golds now and you'd think more to come in Hockey and Cycling at least (plus Femke Bol in 400m Hurdles).

The US runner breaks the world record for fun in the women’s hurdles

Bol should’ve contested the flat

Jade Jones the latest recipient of the BBC Big Build Up, but unfortunatly her young opponent was
the winner.
Although, Bradley Sinden cruised through into the last 8 and does actually look a real gold medal pretender (he's the number 2 seed).
