English Domestic Season 2024

Lancs have picked Chris Green in a FC game when Hartley can’t eve get a go?
Not too sure that Hartley would have been off the plane long enough to justify his selection in Sunday's squad.
Green is not likely to play more than this match in the championship (although I might be wrong). He's clearly around for the remaining group games in the Blast and maybe sensible (for him) to make himself available for the Metro Bank one day (so that he could get a injury replacement franchise spot).
Not sure if he's in the Canadian Franchise thing this year but fairly sure he's in the CPL. So that would very much rule himself of the remaining August / September first class games.
It's Lyon's last game so the way forward is pretty much open now for Hartley as Morley is injured.

Is he planning to continue playing for Lancs after Lord's?
I doubt it although nothing has been announced by the club (or Anderson).
However, Key has said that decision will be made after the Lord's test and also that Anderson will be with England (in his role as a mentor) all summer - whatever that means.
Maybe Key just doesn't want Anderson to play for Lancashire this year as they (and Kent) are in the relegation battle!
Presumably his England contract is up to but not past October. So things may be different next year.

He was ****ed as soon as they signed Lyon - he should've been getting out of there straight away. Now Bashir has got the England gig despite only playing 3 matches and taking 4 wickets (which doesn't make a lot of sense).
a) where to?
b) he's pretty much Lancashire's no. 1 winner when available now

They and Somerset are making good fists of seemingly challenging targets. Disinclined to blame the declaring captains in each case though, no matter how much the pitches have seemingly flattened out.

Surrey beat Essex and with that, you think a massive step towards winning the title.
Hopefully. Beyond that, it was good to see Lawes return his best figures of the season. And as two of those were caught behind, one was bowled, and the other caught by Sibley (usually in the slips), it suggests that they weren't cheap gimmes. And I was pleased to see Ryan Patel make a major contribution; possibly his finest FC knock for the county.

Glamorgan need 33 from 48 balls to chase a FC record of 593

Somerset chase 413 in 91.4 overs to beat Warks

Hants played very good T20 innings chasing 179 to win. Scored 171 from 20 overs. 6 runs now needed from 9.2 overs
