Match 52# Afghanistan vs Bangladesh: Do or die for the Afghans

It's been the story for years now. Scattered plans, conservative batting lineups, inconsistent selections, low IQ cricket. Coaches are powerless in BD.
Board of directors and President too powerful to be removed. So nothing will change. We will be saying same things after 10 years down the road.

Well done Afghans. Wins over NZ, Aus and now the Bangerz. Can't wait to see what kind of brain aneurysm SA suffers that sends them through to the final.
Saf have spent most of the tournament getting by on very narrow victories. Can't see them losing the SF but then we said that about Aus v Afg.

Credit to Afghanistan players. The situation is so dire in-country.

I know Gary Lineker talks about social issues / politics for BBC on MOTD some times during international tournaments.

I hope someone does the same for Sky or Star to raise awareness on what's happening in Afghanistan.

It's a shame Shakib did not become more of a leader. We've seen a few dysfunctional cricket structures uncover a generational talent who then goes on to lead the team to a new level, both on and off the field. Afghanistan have Rashid Khan. Pakistan had Imran Khan. Nepal had Paras Khadka (who has now transitioned into administration). Shakib could have been that guy for BD. He's lead with bat and ball but has not been the transformative leader in the dressing room, and it seems unlikely he'll take an active role in cricket after retirement.

Too many off field activities. He stopped caring about cricket after 2019 WC.

What an extraordinary game that was. Kudos to Afghanistan for a completely deserved semi-finals dayboo.

Loving this World Cup, tbf. Would be delighted if future tournaments were played on pitches like these too (or maybe alternating with roady ones to provide a bit of variety).

Easily the best match of the tournament and will take some to top this- quaification scenarios, rain, drama, injury scams, bangladesh being bangladesh and lastly the result that most cricket fans wanted

I feel like this would be asking Shakib to change his whole personality. Don't think he ever had it in him.
