*Official* England in India 2023/24 #CryMoreTour

Whatever it takes!!!
What's the point of all that if it comes in a losing cause?
Their tour this time has been very similar to our tour to England in 2018. It was 4-1 on paper and we were beaten by the weather as much as anything at Lords and were competitive in every other game including one that we won, before we sorta fell apart in the last test after heart breaking earlier tests where we lost 2 of them due to 1 bad day. England have pretty much been the same this series. I feel the 2018 series was a big reason for us doing so much better in 2021 in England and it may well be the same here for England if they stick to the same management and processes and ideas.

Only idiots will think we had a bad tour to England in 2018 and English fans should feel the same way about this tour.

Interesting stats comparison I realised. Who can name the 2 players, one past and one present. They played similar roles for their teams.

Edit: Adding a third player who also has similar numbers, shouldn't be hard to guess either. Kind of eery really.

I had a ton of time on my hands during that tour and watched every Test at this really cool open-air bar with plants and birds in cages (not so cool but kinda idyllic if you closed your eyes) all around. Damn near tore my hair out in clumps by the end of it.

Speaking of bars, it's obviously a categorically good thing they don't sell booze at Indian grounds, but Dharamshala, with yesterday's DJ at the console, would be such an epic setting for a few pints.

They missed a trick up at Dharamshala by not going with the devil’s lettuce. High up there in the Himalayas.

If you get beat 4-1 you've had a bad tour. Come on. It's a results business. This sort of thinking is what leads to the sort of mediocrity exemplified by English sport in general, but particularly their cricket.
England are desperately trying to convince themselves they have been more competitive than us last year, despite the fact India didn't need to go out of their way to create a flat deck for the last test in this current England series to ensure they won.

It's encapsulated by what Rohit apparently said to Kuldeep when Bairstow came in - "Bowl whatever you want to him".

You think India made a flat deck in the last test to "escape" with a series win 8-)

Despite the Oz insistence they've done better in India in the last few years it's probably only on a technicality - Eng's win in 2012 coming from behind & winning the series after losing toss in Mumbai is among their biggest series wins ever! The Oz win in Indore last year after losing the toss was their first in 22 years after Mumbai.

We didn't have Kuldeep last year nor Jaiswal, Sarfaraz, Jurel - having any of the two would've probably tilted more results in our favor especially Kuldeep. And speaking of being competitive FFS you(Oz) win like 90-95% tosses here yet you keep harping on & on about them :sp_ike:

It would've actually made more sense if the third & fourth test were both flat decks which would've ensured a 2-0 or 3-0 victory especially given Cummins already left the squad after second test. The last test was played in front of two heads of states - this was probably the reason they made it to last 5 days!

Go learn the meaning of "neutral venue" and people will start taking notice of your drivel

Oh shut the **** up, you took your definition of "neutral" & applied it to England. Anyone who's watched cricket knows the effect of conditions in it, Eng will never be a "neutral" venue for Asian vs S.E.N.A. nations!
