*Official* 2024 South Africa tour of New Zealand: 2 tests

Only 12 players now with more test centuries than Kane. He centuries per innings ration is by far the best at 5.48. Next best is Smith at 5.96. The other two of the big 4 sees Kohl at 6.58 and Root at 8.36. Kane is really underrated by NZers for how good he really is.

Some horrific dismissals today. All of the bowlers and keeper will never play international cricket again after next week but some of these batters will and they've not turned up.

Southee with one slip in to a new batsman is actually smart. He's forcing them to find the unconventional gaps

I know I fall into that category, but now, even I find it hard to say Crowe is the better batsman over Kane.

I think it's due to growing up in the era when Crowe was at his peak and him playing against ATG bowling attacks that gives me rose coloured glasses in some ways.

Mitchell would have taken that had it carried....big hands like buckets, he never drops 'em.

I just think Crowe was poetry in motion, had a very fluid style....whereas Kane is a little more workmanlike in his technique. It's all about personal choice I suppose, whether you favour aesthetics over iron discipline and getting the job done. I'd rather watch Mark Waugh bat than Steve....Steve with better stats, but a Mark Waugh innings would be more attacking, more pleasing on the eye.
