I also see that in the last 5 calendar years (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), Kane scored double tons. That can't be too common.

Bradman didn't manage it ("poor" year in 1933), Sangakkara didn't. Lara didn't (poor year in 2002). Hammond didn't. Kohli hasn't. Jayawardene didn't. Atapattu was just 15 runs short in 2002. Sehwag misses out as he only played one test in 2007. Miandad misses - poor 1986. Younis Khan no, Sachin no. Dravid missed out by 20 in 2001. Root no, Cook no.

That's every batsman with 5+ doubles. Only Kane has scored 5 in 5 consecutive years - a number managed 4.

NZ batsmen who scored fewer hundreds in their career than Kane has in his last 17 tests:

Stephen Fleming, BJ Watling, Glenn Turner, John F Reid, Andrew Jones, Bevan Congdon, Henry Nicholls

Mark Waugh and Kerry O'Keeffe on the Windies ODI coverage both saying they'd prefer Kohli to bat for their lives over KW

Probably the only thing that can bring Australian, English and Indian cricket fans together is Kane scoring runs.

Especially scoring runs against South Africa C 😂

You realise all their bull**** will be "justified" after Australia waltz over here and slaughter us as per usual?

To be a cricket fan in this country is to know suffering.

Honestly it's just astonishing what he's done in the last year.

132 (24 Feb 2023)

121 not out
215 (17 March 2023)

(tore ACL 31 March 2023)

104 (28 November 2023)

118
109 (today)

When you throw the ACL in there this has to be one of the more impressive runs of form and 12 months in test match history.

Olivier is done. Can't see them picking him for the next match.
He was picked based on experience... Seeing what he has become he should never have been selected. Old SA conservative attitude. SA should have been brave, picked a bunch of young and upcoming youngsters for the bowling. I suppose the u19 WC killed that idea... Watching Mphaka in NZ would have been great. Wouldn't make a difference... But been better.
