Whatever it takes!!!
I really notice that a lot of these younger batsmen have a problem with tempo. They either go way too hard or they become really passive. It's actually the one thing you notice the most with the truly great batsmen; they have absolute mastery of tempo and can change it at will.
This is why bazball works so well. It takes the guesswork out and just dictates the tempo to you so you have clarity of thought.
I often think Bazball is basically taking it ball by ball literally. Be aware of the field, the pitch, the conditions and the state of the ball etc. but if you feel there is a ball you can play a shot to, and a potential boundary, go for it. And if you feel you have more chances by playing a forceful shot than just defending pointlessly, then go for that too.

I dont think its brainless as its made out to be, except for the times they did let themselves get carried away by that philosophy, but at its core its basically the SehWAG thing of see ball, hit ball.

Also yay, we picked 5 bowlers, so our batting lineup effectively ends at 4 down and no Jadeja to bail us out . Intentionally sabotage a poor batting lineup even further. Good job, think-tank.

India win the toss and level the series 1-1....... (waits for OS to reply saying the advantage of batting first in India is a myth)

Yea, Mukesh could end up being an useless baggage considering the conditions. Sunder should've been picked instead of Mukesh!

This has felt like a pretty dicey innings by Jaiswal. Hit the ball in the air near fielders three or four times now.

Yeah, and I think it's a realisation that, well, batting is hard and very complicated. There are so many things you have to be aware of and so much you have to decide and react to in about 0.5 seconds that clearing out the mental gunk as much as possible and simplifying the process can only really help in most circumstances. Unless you're a batting savant a la Steve Smith who can galaxy brain your way to modifying your whole game on the fly, the vast majority of talented batsmen will be best served by just playing instinctively.

Around 30 tests between the other specialist batsmen. Completely insane. I know they've been backed into a corner because of the numerous injuries but still.
Would you have begrudgingly gone back to CP? Tbf it ironically doesn't help that India holding onto Pujara/Rahane probably a bit too long (latter in particular) has contributed to the transition being stifled.

No it's not injuries, it's the idiot team management and selectors. Pujara is available and scoring loads in domestic. Rahane is available too. When you know you are shot in experience why would you pick patidar when kohli was out out for the 1st 2 tests.
Pujara should've been selected right there and then.

I believe he got injured during the most recent Ranji game.
