Anderson and Root opening the bowling

Has it ever happened before? It's surely the second-most capped opening bowling duo.

Looks like Bashir's MO is going to be varying his pace. Doesn't look that impressive honestly on first glance.

Whatever it takes!!!
I am just sick of all the "We will be brave and take on the bowling" spiels from our batsmen when at the first sign of real pressure we do this ****.

This happened in the 2022 T20 WC semis, it happened in the 2023 WC finals, and it has happened in the WTC finals and now. Just dont talk that **** at least if you are not gonna commit.

PS: Should point out, of all the batsmen, only Jaiswal and Rohit have committed to that approach fully anyway. Kohli the 3rd based on how he has been since he got himself back into some form.

I like how the highlights package solely consists of the only pacer beating the bat again and again and the spinners bowling bad balls which get dispatched for 4. Jimmeh.

Agree overall, but it's an ok approach for today.

We need to bat as long as possible so England don't get use of the flatter wicket.

On these sort of decks, in a weird way it's ok to bat conservatively because you'll rarely get an unplayable delivery but can get out if you play a rash shot. It's on tougher wickets where you need to take your chances.
