I enjoyed this one a lot more tbh. This was thoroughly entertaining from start to finishSurely the best test in Australia in a decade or more, with the only possible competition being the Gabba 2021.

I think Australia needs to find one stat as well tbh.Yeah but if you don't have hope then what else is left?
I said it last night and I'll say it again: there are the bones of a properly competitive team here. They just need Kraigg and Chanders Jr to come good and find one more batsman... somehow...
Only Perth and Adelaide were kind of meh and there were moments there too. Nothing like the horrible pastings of last summer.MCG match was also good this summer.
I mean we can be more specific than that: we need Marnus to remember that he's supposed to be in his prime. I keep saying it but that's the biggest issue with the batting order right now; your gun #3 at 30yo should not batting like thisI think Australia needs to find one stat as well tbh.
Kraigg is up there with Sobers and Viv with the sheer flow of his batting but its such a small sample size, and he's so young so you can only hope.Yeah but if you don't have hope then what else is left?

Again this has always been said. Brathwaite is at his level and I'm not really sold on anyone else including Chanderpaul. Their poor FC system (especially the pitches) has just been that much of a hindrance, and the lure of T20 money is never far away.Yeah but if you don't have hope then what else is left?

i didn't get this discussion last week. it was a quick game coz they bowled well! would we have preferred a boring arse Marnus 200 to get onto day 4The weird thing about it is that I don't think the WIndies played that poorly. Hobart 2015 it wasn't. Really West Indies had a shot at a first innings lead but for Head's innings.
spark we already knew usman can open lolIncidentally amongst all this the "can the second greatest batsman in the country's history open the batting" conversation was also killed stone dead today, so wins all around. Just needed Green to not get that cracker and it would have been an all around flawless day of cricket.
Larkin in.ok time for the hot takes. marnus out, renshaw in.
Brathwaite was not at his level this tour though, he was way way below his level. But yes something needs to be done to support WI cricket at the FC level; it might require radical options like inviting top tier WI prospects to participate in other FC systems.Again this has always been said. Yeah but I don’t think we can carry two allrounders in the top six. Green can develop into a proper test class batsman but isn’t there yet, but Marsh is nothing more than a stop gap solution, as good as he’s been. Theres just an inherent fragility with both of them there imo.I mean we can be more specific than that: we need Marnus to remember that he's supposed to be in his prime.
