So apparently the teeger removal came from pressure from the sports minister...

Well that is just dire... If this is government interference then we might as well give up on CSA, because they are just another continuation of the same old administrative problems.

aren't South Africa only hosting the event because of Sri Lanka's government interference? Maybe the difference is that the ICC considered the SL government interference to be "extensive" whereas this is considered less so on their sliding scale, or simply it's too late for the ICC to interfere themselves.

The ICC and how they apply their rules are very selective.
See Afghanistan not banned because it would be unfair to players compared to other instances of nations banned

What an absolute joke , don't do **** all for the sport except to push their agendas on innocent cricketers,I wouldn't blame Teegar if he decided to play elsewhere professionally.

This only happened in the past week, so perhaps too soon for the ICC to have had a chance to act. Although if it's only unnamed sources who are claiming political interference and CSA maintain the safety concerns line then I don't think there's much the ICC can realistically do.

Apparently the ICC can only act after the affected cricket board asks for the ICC to help. So unlikely anything to happen, I don't see CSA applying to CSA and asking to be suspended.

Five-fer for Maphaka in the U/19 WC.

Considering he's already had an A-side call up I wouldn't be that surprised if we see him in the senior side before the end of the year.
Given who was missing there was honestly a kind of plausible case to pick him for the NZ tour, lol.
