I don't think Spencer Johnson even rates his own batting anywhere near as much as the Heat seem to.

Said it before, but him at 9 is still just strange

This game is a classic example of why I love the gades. Need 6's in the last 10 with 9 in the shed, so the gades decide to start trying to hit every ball into orbit, lose two wickets in three balls. Wells is listed to come in at 5, perfectly built for this situation, but for whatever reason Sutherland promotes himself to 5, gets beaten twice, edges one swinging wildly, smashed a huge 6, then gets caught for 10(5) doing the same thing. The gades should win this easily, but they manage to sprinkle periods of play like this into there wins and I love them for it.

So bummed for Finch. Deserved better send off
Kind of but he knew, and everyone else did, that he was done years ago. He stuck around an extra 1.5 to 2 years past his ability dictated for the cash so only had himself to blame for the fizzling finish

Big fan of the bloke but not the way he handled the end of his career

History is littered with stories of sportspeople who go on too long

Finch shouldn’t need the money plus he’s got a commentary gig anyway

Sutherland somehow averages over 40 with the ball at almost 9rpo after 53 T20s. I didn't even know that was possible.
Well it is because he's a crap bowler in the format. He is best as first class (despite his own underuse of himself this year) but not sure he'll ever be quick enough for tests.

Even crap bowlers don't usually manage to have records that bad. It's an achievement in itself - especially given he's also captain and not under pressure for his place.
Mohammad Sami averaged 53 for 36 tests, more than many much better bowlers' entire careers. I know Pakistan selection works a bit differently, but it is possible to end up with such a record when people keep selecting the player on whatever basis. Sutherland is young, looks like a good player and potential PONI, so not surprising they keep picking him.

To his credit he has bowled significantly better this season. But I think he needs a good coach to try eke out an extra yard of pace.

There’s potentially a spot for him in the test side in case of injury given there’s no Victorian in it atm. He could potentially be the one allowed in
