Windies Team Discussion, and Other Related Things Thread

Yep Nandu needs to play some list a cricket IMHO and work on his strokeplay. The technique and mental strength are there.

Auguste and Teddy Bishop are the ones disappointing me. They are both supremely talented shot makers but keep getting themselves out in such lazy ways.

They need to look at how Anderson plays and learn from him.
Some technical aspects of their batting need to be polished.

I mentioned a few posts ago that Kevlon possesses the grace of Carl Hooper. He was made for red ball cricket.

I tuned in to watch the Abu Dhabi Teeee-10 league this morning, because I had nothing better to do.

Akeal's use of the in-swinger to the right-hander is lethal. He got the variations. Would I be insane if I say that he should be in our team besides Motie and Cariah? Absolutely.

Bowlers job is to take wickets, it doesn't matter if they are the same type of bowlers. We Windies should be more open to the fact that spin is king over here.

But, I am not fully pro-spin though. Horses for courses and a good balance of pace and spin works wonders.
I am not at all convinced by Cariah tbh. I'd prefer have Akheil.

We have Akeal Hosein flummoxing guys in the Teeee-10 with his in-swinger.

We are yet to announce the Teeee-20 squad versus England.

One would hope to see Akeal in there.

Cariah looks a bits n pieces cricketer tbh.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well he bowled in his first few games but yeah he's returned to type.

His batting is totally unsuited to the format/role he's in too. I'd sooner bat him at 5 in Tests.

Doesn't surprise me. Holder at times has looked like he's already checked out, Pooran will pick and choose over the next couple of years, Mayers is going to cash in globetrotting while he can.
My initial thought was that Holder was done with white ball cricket...because he really sucks. That bowling is not going to light up the world in curry goat cricket.

Pooran's intentions are clear.

Kyle Mayers was our all-format player not so long ago; surprise that he took this direction.

One of the weakest squads in recent times. Half of the A-team is in here.

Unofficially the end of Blackwood's test career?
Didn't expect Bravo to be in the squad but when you look at it, makes his absence even more perplexing.

Shai Hope and Brandon King can't make this squad huh.

It is genuinely pointless sending that squad to Australia. Just give them the points and save us the pain and late nights.

Greaves - I presume this is to replace Holder and Mayers as an all round option. Fact is he is tres ordinary and has a substantial body of FC work to prove it.

Hodge - Great servant of FC cricket, usually looks pretty solid and had a reasonable A tour of South Africa. But his FC average is worse than Blackwood's test average, so what on earth do we expect?

McCaskie - reserve opener but honestly what has he done to be selected? Averaged 28 on an A tour?!

Imlach - Reserve keeper batsman but is insanely inconsistent even at FC level. Will play an outstanding knock under pressure and then fail abysmally for the rest of the season.

I get Blackwood being dropped but seriously where is Darren Bravo? Where is Brandon King? For the reserve keeper slot, surely Shai Hope is a better option than Imlach?

Haynes et all show no creativity at all. Such dreadful selectors. Any side we pick for a red ball tour to Australia will get thrashed but this one will get annihilated. We are so good at shooting ourselves in the foot.

The explanation for these picks is going to be hilarious.

Zachary gets picked because he is Kraigg's opening partner in the Bajan setup. A backup opener...wow.
