Moooo
The academy team can probably beat this test team we put up. Those guys are a well cohesive bunch.
Daniel Bell Drummond and Oliver Davies are the ones we know are eligible. Both would add something for sure.According to the podcast, the selectors have been talking to players in England, New Zealand and Australia about representing the West Indies.
Genuinely think Kevlon Anderson is a much better batsman than Hodge and Nyeem Young is a better all rounder than Greaves. That's ignoring a lot of the other guys in that set up that have done really well so far.The academy team can probably beat this test team we put up. Those guys are a well cohesive bunch.
I doubt davies would represent west indies RN. He played for AUS-A earlier in the summer and probably isn't far away from a spot in the limited overs side's if he keeps his form up. If he plays for the windies he wouldn't be able to play for AUS for a few years, right?Daniel Bell Drummond and Oliver Davies are the ones we know are eligible. Both would add something for sure.
Yeah he's a long shot. Bell Drummond is perhaps more likely but somehow I don't see that one either.I doubt davies would represent west indies RN. Part of me would love it if Oliver Davies used his Trinidad roots to play for West Indies. They could do with an upcoming star batsmanDaniel Bell Drummond and Oliver Davies are the ones we know are eligible. Both would add something for sure.
Would be interesting to see how he would go in those conditions, honestly. He's a much better player of spin than pace.Part of me would love it if Oliver Davies used his Trinidad roots to play for West Indies. They could do with an upcoming star batsman
Don't think CA would be happy losing him, sounds like he's happy enough trying to establish himself in state cricket and taking it from there.Part of me would love it if Oliver Davies used his Trinidad roots to play for West Indies. They could do with an upcoming star batsman
In an interview he said it's an interesting idea in theory but it would take a really good financial offer as he doesn't want to live anywhere other than Australia.Don't think CA would be happy losing him, sounds like he's happy enough trying to establish himself in state cricket and taking it from there.
Yeah Bell-Drummond is a much better shout given I think his chances of playing for England have probably passed him by.In an interview he said it's an interesting idea in theory but it would take a really good financial offer as he doesn't want to live anywhere other than Australia.
As CWI and 'good financial offer' don't belong in the same sentence, I think we can rule it out.
Australia is the pragmatic option both financially and in terms of winning trophies. Can't blame him at all, especially as he has grown up in Australia. He's been by far NSW's best run scorer in the first half of the Shield this year, despite playing only half the matches. It's early days but you'd think he has his eyes on an Australia spot.
In an interview with CCP he said he considers himself English and so hadn't seen playing for the West Indies as an option. I wonder if that will change now, as it was a couple of years ago.Yeah Bell-Drummond is a much better shout given I think his chances of playing for England have probably passed him by.
The current government does not really care much about sport. They have overseen a whole bunch of incompetence in multiple sports and shown no real interest in investing in cricket. The fall of Jamaican cricket continues: https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...ced-in-cpl-by-antigua-based-franchise-1413972
They really are absolutely hopeless.
Keith Barker would be eligible too because of his father but he's probably a bit long in the tooth at 37 for it to be worth it, especially as "bowl medium pace with the duke ball and bat okay in the lower middle order" is a role Holder already does pretty well.In an interview with CCP he said he considers himself English and so hadn't seen playing for the West Indies as an option. I doubt he would want to go through the rigmarole of playing for Guyana in FC cricket, so he would need a good offer from CWI.
Bell Drummond could slot in at 3 in our test side pretty easily I'd say and add something.Keith Barker would be eligible too because of his father but he's probably a bit long in the tooth at 37 for it to be worth it, especially as "bowl medium pace with the duke ball and bat okay in the lower middle order" is a role Holder already does pretty well.
Yeah he'd be a useful addition. I could see him averaging 35 or so for a few years which would be a significant upgrade.Bell Drummond could slot in at 3 in our test side pretty easily I'd say and add something.
