One wonders why he waited until now to make this decision.

Probably, getting to play in the million leagues out there.
He had legal disputes in the past too over their treatment of him during a difficult period of his life. Maybe he just can't be arsed with CWI. Who knows.

Ahhh no way, when he was in exile, he plied his trade in the American T20 leagues, I believe Minor League Cricket.

Out of nowhere he came in the recently concluded Super50.

He made a 100, Dessie took notice and rope him in, the Bajan Bias, loud and proud.

(I am being a super speculator, of course.)

Philo Wallace:
You cannot rebuild alone with young people, you got to rebuild with some experience and I think that Bravo is at the right stage of his career now, where he can stabilise that middle,” Wallace said.

He added: “When you look at Bravo who has now come back into his own and he’s an attractive player, I think that he can lend support that that middle order needs...I feel Bravo’s hurt.”
Kieran Powell:
This is actually a discussion I’ve had with the selection panel myself before the start of the four-day season last year. I asked him (Haynes) if there is a reason why I have not been considered for selection for some time because over the past two four-day seasons combined, I’ve scored the most runs in the Caribbean, but as Darren alluded to, there’s no communication unless you as a player instigate communication from the selection panel, which is absolutely ridiculous.

You can’t say because you’ve invested in two young players (Keacy Carty and Alick Athanaze) that you can’t pick another senior player. You didn’t pick two players, you picked a squad of 15 players, so that doesn’t sit well with me and it doesn’t really make much sense.
Uncle Dessie and Co. are coming under deserved scrutiny.

After day 1 of the 2nd unofficial test, WI Academy are on an even 300 for 8 in the 90th over.

Kevlon Anderson unbeaten on 101, with support from the skipper Nyeem Young.

Watching Anderson bat yesterday, the kid showed great temperament and he middled most of his shots. His defense was good. Carl Hooperesque.

Quite an interesting day 2, we were dismissed for 326.

Then bowled out Ireland for 72. Joshua Bishop with 4/18, Thorne with 3/16, Young with 2/7, and Clarke with 1/16

Batting in the second innings, we are 172/4, a lead of 426

It was interesting to watch us bowl. When Thorne was on, even the Irish middle order batters weren't getting into line. He is very quick, but I thought that was pretty poor. I guess Ireland's young players don't see that sort of pace until they get to this level.

Nyeem Young..Looks a player.
This academy team has a few bright prospects. Though obviously this is West Indies cricket, we've heard that before and this Ireland batting lineup was atrocious, at least in these conditions.

Nyeem Young could replace Jason Holder in the next couple of years, he's very good.

Kevin Wickham is a good young batsman who bowls decent leggies and medium pace. He has 2 FC centuries already.

Kevlon Anderson is very solid and looks a test match batsman in waiting. He is averaging in the mid 40s so far in FC cricket with 2 hundreds.

Joshua Bishop is a decent left arm spinner and lower order hitter. He does put lots of revs on the ball. A definite prospect. Problem is he will have trouble dethroning Motie.

Isaiah Thorne is express pace and scared the life out of the Irish batsmen, most of whom didn't get in line. He will be tested in future but has everything you need to be a world class fast bowler.

Let's see how they progress.

Though I should point out that Ireland's seamers were impressive and bowled their hearts out, in particular Foster and Mayes, who showed really good skills and control. Mayes got 10 wickets in the match.

Just disappointed in Nandu, he didn't play to his full potential, he occupies the crease, yes.

But needs to be more proactive, meaning less of a statue.

Yep Nandu needs to play some list a cricket IMHO and work on his strokeplay. The technique and mental strength are there.

Auguste and Teddy Bishop are the ones disappointing me. They are both supremely talented shot makers but keep getting themselves out in such lazy ways.

They need to look at how Anderson plays and learn from him.

I tuned in to watch the Abu Dhabi Teeee-10 league this morning, because I had nothing better to do.

Akeal's use of the in-swinger to the right-hander is lethal. He got the variations. Would I be insane if I say that he should be in our team besides Motie and Cariah? Absolutely.

Bowlers job is to take wickets, it doesn't matter if they are the same type of bowlers. We Windies should be more open to the fact that spin is king over here.

But, I am not fully pro-spin though. Horses for courses and a good balance of pace and spin works wonders.
