Which of these WC outfits were the best teams to not win the WC ?

It can be from countries that won World Cups in the past, but the focus is on sides who didn't win a particular World Cup.

I go with this. WI dominated World Cricket at the time, it was a huge surprise that they were beaten. No other team on that list would've been such huge favourites for a Final......until maybe yesterday!!

I think they were every bit as good, factoring in the era. Two great quicks, a seam bowling allrounder, hard hitting keeper, the Chappell brothers and Walters. I know those guys aren’t as good as the modern greats like Iyer, Yadav, Gill and Siraj, but they won as much as India 2023.

There’s never been a more overhyped side than this Indian one. But at the first whiff of grape shot they disintegrated. Most hyped and most recent doesn’t equal best.

Pakistani squad in 2003 was also damn good....

Anyways..considering the recent and current form of some of the players....I think it's the Indian squad of 2023...(also adding in the home advantage and the ability/record of Indian team to do so well at home)....like obviously they won 10/10 matches in a row..most of them comfortably..just to lose in their 11th match that was the final....

Yeah, totally agree with that. But coming in with 10 off the bounce and barely being tested, would've been like if Aus had lost in 2007.

WI 83 definitely. They pretty much lost to a Indian bowling attack of Dev plus Bums chasing 180 odd. Though, hats off to Indian team to defend that small score.

This Indian Team I think was more overhyped before final than anything else. Not to take anything away from their performance before final. But, the final was more of 55-45 (50-50 imho) rather than 70-30 or 80-20 especially considering India’s recent knockout performances. Didnt except anyone other than Kohli in India’s batting lineup to be much of a threat in the final.

Was NZ 2019 really a special team in the grand scheme of things? It's WI 83 clearly but I'm not sure NZ is up there with the rest.
