***Official***Match #39- Australia vs Afghanistan - November 7th - Wankhede, Mumbai (D/N)

Australia are just a tougher team than us, they almost always step up in big tournaments/moments. Obviously we are doing very well but the way they have bounced back after an uncharacteristically poor start has to make them at least co-favorites, if not the outright one.
Ha!

India playing at home, and we are favourites?

Ok.

I note a lot of our English friends have gone to bed instead of staying up to celebrate with us. If the shoe was on the other foot we would be up all night with them.
It's 8.44 so only the old blokes are in bed. Personally been helicoptering most of the evening in celebration of this great innings.

Obviously the ICC wants an Indian win, hence the umpiring appointments to their games and the way the draw has been arranged.

But they’ll choke. Too much pressure for them to handle. Happens all the time with them. They’re lucky they ran into SL in the 2011 final, who out-choked them on the night.

He just needs another knock on the head, miss the Bangladesh non-event then off he goes again.

Would consider resting him, Smith again, Starc and maybe Haze from that game tbh. Would also consider a Carey return for the bootlicker, who’s done SFA since he came in

I still think Inglis looks the most likely to contribute positively to the team but it could be worthwhile at least giving Carey a shot in the dead rubber just to see if he's had some kind of batting revelation over the last month
