Only youngsters or the ignorant would vote for Polly. Andy Roberts was as fearsome a quick as any who has ever bowled.
Stats are for prats - nothing else to say here.

It was better than quite a few quick bowlers of that era. Besides stats don't tell the whole story. There is plenty of evidence on you tube of his bowling. It was quite fearsome. Like his team mates he could bowl quite a lifting bouncer. Didn't just save then for the big occasion either. Hampshire v Somerset - Roberts sent one down to a young Ian Botham. Seconds later Botham was picking up his front teeth from the floor.

Was he any more likely to get players out of the game through injury than others?

He was far more fearsome, stats don’t tell the whole story.

Yeah, irrespective of aesthetics Pollock was by far the more successful bowler, so it's only to he expected that he is winning the pool easily.
