Roberts shouldn't be beating Walsh if people really value longevity. So Pollock and Anderson have both beaten Roberts, but Roberts has beaten Walsh who has beaten Anderson
Can you provide context for why his bowling average ended up being not that impressive?I saw Roberts in his pomp.
No contest.
It was better than quite a few quick bowlers of that era. Besides stats don't tell the whole story. There is plenty of evidence on you tube of his bowling. It was quite fearsome. Like his team mates he could bowl quite a lifting bouncer. Didn't just save then for the big occasion either. Hampshire v Somerset - Roberts sent one down to a young Ian Botham. Seconds later Botham was picking up his front teeth from the floor. Can you provide context for why his bowling average ended up being not that impressive?
Maybe he just wasn’t ATG qualityCan you provide context for why his bowling average ended up being not that impressive?
Was he any more likely to get players out of the game through injury than others? It was better than quite a few quick bowlers of that era. Besides stats don't tell the whole story. Aesthetics are as overrated as certain players on this forum. No one who watched both bowl would think Polly was the better bowler.
Bunch of youth here making silly statements.
You’d be surprised how often the opposite is the case here.Yeah, irrespective of aesthetics Pollock was by far the more successful bowler, so it's only to he expected that he is winning the pool easily.
