Pollock was as quick as anything in his early years, especially 96 - 98 period. He and Kallis were as quick as Donald during that time when they wanted to be. But the express bowler title did not last long.

They should have wanted a lot more because they were not even half as good as Donald was.

Pollock certainly had pace around 1995, but even by 1998 and the tour to England, he looked far more like a respectable fast medium who could extract bounce along with a wide skill set. I can't say I really remember enough about Roberts, but he was part of a fearsome quartet who helped windies become the world's best team and he was the leader of the attack. Sure you can mention longevity but he played in an era where there were far less tests around and no chance to massage your stats against the weakest teams. Roberts had an outstanding record against England, Australia and India. Pollock's all comer record was brilliant bar from against Australia but it should be said that they were head and shoulders the best side he would have faced.

The weren't as quick. Just regulation fast. Mid 140s. I have only a few of memories of either of them topping 150 on the gun.

Donald with the new ball was genuine express. Saw him hit 155+ a couple of times, and he was aging out by the time the time they were regularly bringing speed guns in. Was visibly quicker in the early 90s when there were no guns. He was 26 on debut, and most bowlers have already dropped some pace by that age.
