Sutherland come out of nowhere the last 12 months or so to become one of the most reliable all-rounders going around. Ideal no. 7 bat, some real finisher Forkers vibes. But hopefully he'll be better for a lot longer

Isn't September still part of the cold months for you guys? Why are they already playing long form cricket?
They basically leave half of December and all of January to the bbl for domestic players now, so they jam the domestic one dayers in early as possible almost as an after thought, and split the Shield season in two, either side of the BBL. It’s pretty ****ed up tbh

Meredith is closer to playing for Australia than many other players

Speed pays the bills and he actually improved a lot last season

Morris went for plenty yesterday but there was only one bowler who looked likely at a higher level

Whatever it takes!!!

That is very bad news. FC cricket will die if all boards keep going in this direction and unfortunately, I think they will. :(

So, here we go.

Quite like the look of the South Australia bowling here. Batting a bit less convincing though
I was thinking the exact opposite, honestly. None of the guys in that SA lineup are shockingly poor and they have manenti at 7 and mcandrew at 8. I'de be more worried about the bowling.

There is definitely a reasonable amount of talent individually in the batting lineup, but as a unit they are somewhat on the unproven side, of the specialist bats only J00f has played more than 13 List A games. You are right though that Mananti and McAndrew at 7 and 8 is a handy thing to have though

I do really rate this attack though, especially in comparison to some of the South Australia 50 over attacks from the last few years. None of the first choice Shield attack of that era were particularly good white ball bowlers

All completely fair points, tbh. Maybe I was being a bit harsh, Thornton, Wagar and Doggett are all good, I just don't rate manenti or mcandrews white ball bowling all that much.

Good to see Thornton get a game, presumably on the back of that 7-for with "Australia A" (lol)

SA actually have some depth in the bowling stocks, but no one that is really that good to stand out
