Green's series has been poor so far but likely will still be picked on 'potential'. Rare luxury for Aus to have 2 allrounders at once and both playing would pave the way for Hardie and Green to play together

Labuschagne to open? I'd rather stick with specialist openers in English conditions.
Well the specialist opener Warner only lasted 5 balls in each innings last test so Labushagne might as well of opened
The wicket at Old Trafford may suit Warner, but then a lot depends on his morale and how he feels about his batting in general, if he's confident then maybe the team management should stick with him and give him another go. What if he ends up doing well in the 4th test going by the law of averages?
So which is it, if you'd rather stick with a specialist opener then how can Marsh and Green both play? You'd have to pick Harris as an opener
Did some research and Labushagne started as an opener in grade (with 3 centuries) and debuted for Qld as an opener making 83. He opened in his first two shield seasons with either Burns or Renshaw. His best was a 103 and 52 (run out) vs WA where Bancroft and Harrris opened as well
By season 3 Burns, Renshaw and Khawaja were locks in the top 3 spots so Labushagne became the Qld #4 (#3 when Khawaja on Aus duty) and the rest is history
I'd say he's pretty qualified to open instead of Warner (just for next 2 tests)

If Warner doesn't play then from the series context I prefer Green over Harris. If it was Trent Bridge then probably Harris, the ball moves a lot there.So which is it, if you'd rather stick with a specialist opener then how can Marsh and Green both play? You'd have to pick Harris as an opener

Don't understand why anyone is calling for Mo to be dropped. Sure his batting is not what it was, but he bowled really well at Headingley on a pitch offering nothing to the spinners and took two vital wickets. Contrast with Murphy who clearly didn't have the confidence of his captain and immediately bowled a front foot no-ball when he was eventually brought on.
I'd argue you could bring in Dawson as well as Mo if the OT pitch looks like a raging Bunsen, but it would be madness to leave Mo out.

Completely agree, that spell of 17 overs 2-34 was massive. Not only did he pick off 2 vital wickets but he completely tied up an end allowing the seamers (who were a man down don't forget) to get a breather in.
He also then offered himself for the Number 3 position. It may not have worked out for him, but it sure did for Brook. Other than a fast bowler rotation, the only change England should consider is Foakes for Bairstow, but they won't.

I don't think he should have been called out of red ball retirement to play at Dawson's expense, but now that call has been taken they'll surely stick with him for OT, where he has a good bowling record. They'll probably bat him at 3 again to keep the Yorkshire crew further from the new ball, and count any runs Mo scores himself as a bonus.
How much of a factor should Warner's slip fielding be in his selection.
If he isn't picked, who would take his place in the slip cordon.
On the other hand if Green takes his place, is Warner's fielding nullified by Green in the gully.
Obviously making runs should the principle criteria but if it's a close call, then fielding surely has to be considered.

Warner's fielding shouldn't be a factor for him to be in the team, If so bat him at 7
