what are the chances that WI don't make it to the WC? I mean is there a realistic chance that they don't qualify?

More than realistic..Its highly probable.. They are already on the backfoot because Zimbabwe have taken points off them which will be carried over to the Super Six stage

Now they have to win every game from here on out cause I only see Zimbabwe potentially losing to Sri Lanka ..Windies have to beat Netherlands, Sri Lanka , Scotland and Oman to qualify which is not going to be easy ..

I am reminded of something Carl Hooper said before the start of this tournament,

“This game continues to remind you that until you start doing the right things, you can go lower. As I said before, I never thought I would live to see this day.”
West Indies keep shooting themselves in the foot..
Not qualifying for the ODI WC would be a disaster for West Indies that's when you need to put differences aside and select the best squad ..

Then there is some weird selection policies ..
Keacy Carty makes the World Cup ODI squad with an average of 25 at a SR of 59 .. yet a guy like Sunil Ambris averaged 36 at a SR of 95 for West Indies and got discarded after playing 15 games , Rovman Powell has played 50 ODI matches with an average of 19 yet a finisher like Hetmyer who has a good ODI record can't get in the team ..

Kevin Sinclair hasn't featured once in the tournament when these conditions clearly have something on offer for the spinners and he's taken 9 wickets @16 for the West Indies ..

Alick Athanaze hit the fastest 50 ever on debut but sits on the bench , Evin Lewis is way more consistent than King or Mayers will ever be yet not in the squad ..its just one big mess

And they could still be out after winning all the four matches too. They need Zimbabwe or Sri Lanka to lose badly in super six.

The revenue model stinks yes, but we mostly have ourselves to blame for this. We've sucked at ODIs since Otis Gibson was coach and got rid of Gayle , Shiv and Sarwan way too early. That's a long time ago and we've done nothing radical to change that.

We deserve to have to qualify and if Zim make it ahead of us we can have no complaints.

I like some of the early things Sammy is doing as coach but, as today demonstrated, we have a long way to go.
I think trundler meant the ICC was to blame for scheduling a WC with only ten teams in it, not for WI not being one of the best ten teams anymore.
