Alice Athanaze waiting for Indian ( Aug 12 & Aug 13 ) for Florida Twenty overs Int'Lgame, (Even Lewis hits back to back 100 against india at Florida some time ago on week-end)

I wish westindies pick AA tomorrow vs Netherland in place of Powell whose ODI average 22 but he is Superb 20 over player.

I think trundler meant the ICC was to blame for scheduling a WC with only ten teams in it, not for WI not being one of the best ten teams anymore.
Yes but the ICC revenue model is one reason why we are not in the top 10, alongside our own various failings.

West Indies keep shooting themselves in the foot..
Not qualifying for the ODI WC would be a disaster for West Indies that's when you need to put differences aside and select the best squad ..

Then there is some weird selection policies ..
Keacy Carty makes the World Cup ODI squad with an average of 25 at a SR of 59 .. yet a guy like Sunil Ambris averaged 36 at a SR of 95 for West Indies and got discarded after playing 15 games , Rovman Powell has played 50 ODI matches with an average of 19 yet a finisher like Hetmyer who has a good ODI record can't get in the team ..

Kevin Sinclair hasn't featured once in the tournament when these conditions clearly have something on offer for the spinners and he's taken 9 wickets @16 for the West Indies ..

Alick Athanaze hit the fastest 50 ever on debut but sits on the bench , Evin Lewis is way more consistent than King or Mayers will ever be yet not in the squad ..its just one big mess
Agreed we never select our best side and the current selectors are garbage. It's not all the boards fault though, Hety couldn't be arsed to get on a plane to the world cup and Evin Lewis picks and chooses when he wants to play.

First Class Debutant
Shades of Toronto 2001 here for those of us old enough to remember.

As depressing as it looks, there are some positives though just like that absolute shitshow 22 years ago. The best batters are actually good and still in their 20s, the bowling stocks, albeit not anywhere near world-class are still better than in 2001 and there is at least a 'structure' to the domestic league compared to when there were no interpros at all.

There are rumblings that a lot of it has to do with bullying and mismanagement at the admin level along with substandard training facilities, no stadium, no fc cricket.

Holding onto hope there will be enough talent for another 2005 style golden generation, but it's going to be difficult now being cut off from county cricket.
