IMO Siraj's career to date has been a tad disappointing. Always looked a tremendous bowler to me. Be very interested to see how he goes in South Africa.

Surprised to find he's already 29 though, thought he was a couple of years younger.
it’s disappointing because he started off very well. may have to do with him also focusing on becoming a good odi bowler at similar time when he wasn’t previously, now he’s excellent in odis

Umesh did well in England in the couple of opportunities he got, but I think Unadkat is probably a lower chance of producing a day full of legside pies.
Yeah the difference between a good day and a bad day with Yadav is huge. When you're going to bowl 80% spin anyway you can carry him and hope he's 'on' - not as true away from home.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think Sky has too much potential upside in the format to bin him just yet. He’s not delivered but worth persisting with imo.
Yeah but not at #4. And if he is batting 6, we will lose the one other bowling option we have. I would rather try our allrounders 5-9 with 4 specialist bats and 2 specialist bowlers (who both need to be our strike bowlers).

KL Rahul ?

probable xi:

Rohit
Gill
Kohli
Kishan/SKY
Rahul
Hardik
Sundar
Kuldeep
Shami
Bumrah
Siraj
4 #11s. :'(

I think Shreyas is nailed down for #4 in ODIs. And Jaddu may get the nod over Sundar at 7, although I am less confident of that one. Good chance that Sundar nails down the #7 slot. I dont think all 3 of Bumrah, Shami and Siraj will play. Only 2 and hopefully Deepak Chahar is able to get in there as well doing the Bhuvi role. A lot can change by October but assuming everyone is fully fit, I would be most happy with -

Rohit
Gill
Virat
Shreyas
Rahul (wk)
Hardik
Washy
D Chahar
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Siraj

But the real important thing is to use Washy with the new ball. He will always get us wickets. If they are sure that the 4 seamers will be the only ones bowling in the first 10, then get in Jaddu at 7 for Washy.

In ODIs how would you rate these 3?

I think Jadeja is probably No.1 (best)
very closely followed by Axar as No.2, who might overtake him.
and Washington as No.3

Not sold on Axar as a LO batter unfortunately. He does not have the range of 6 hitting options that you need and I think Washy is a more natural batsman than him. Jaddu really seems to get ODI batting far better than he gets test or T20 batting.

Jaddu is one of the best t20 death hitters going around and is a gun test bat, odi is probably his worst batting format lol.

You are right in terms of results, and he is very much a block or bash batter most of the time, but I feel he is getting better at managing an ODI innings better than he is at both tests and T20s. Maybe he just finds it easier to rotate strike in ODIs.

Cool. Arshdeep rocking up for Kent this Summer, he doesn't need to care about the longer format as he can make loads of money in white ball cricket but happy he seems keen to master the red ball.

Anybody reckon their is a test bowler their? India do have an old attack so alternatives are welcome.
