Whatever it takes!!!
I think they discuss each year a few months before the season kicks off and I guess CSA promised they will be available from game 1 but due to circumstances and the ODI league etc. they have kinda reneged on that.

I really think India need to play Unadkat in the wtc final. His first class record is extremely good and his style of bowling is very much suited to English conditions. He’s also serviceable with bat - has a bettter first class average than Thakur. While I think England is the most suitable of the Sena countries for Umesh, he can blow hot and cold and I think him and Thakur in the eleven is too risky.
also need to have Vihari in the squad as a reserve given iyer is out.

I would go with
Rohit
Gill
Pujara
Kohli
Rahul
Jadeja
Bharat
Shardul
Unadkat
Shami
Siraj

the oval does take turn but giventhe match is in June I’d be wary about playing Ashwin over Thakur.

Cool. Arshdeep rocking up for Kent this Summer, he doesn't need to care about the longer format as he can make loads of money in white ball cricket but happy he seems keen to master the red ball.

Anybody reckon their is a test bowler their? India do have an old attack so alternatives are welcome.
Yes I think he will do alright in tests. Especially in swinging conditions. I like his temperament and level headedness. Hope he gets enough chances to shine.

Can’t blame him . Rohit and Kohli are the 2 big elephants ? who are past their peak and new guys aren’t as good we thought them to be . Plus injury of Bumrah , Iyer and Pant has also made his job tougher

Far better Indian sides have lost to Aus in ODI at home ( TVS cup 2003, ODI series 2009 , ODI series 2019) . Aus have always played well in IND in ODI .

Dravid's reign has been pretty underwhelming hasn't it?
I don't remember the timeframe of his tenure so far but India made the world T20 semi's, didn't lose a bilateral series across his tenure at home until this AUS ODI series and have been good away from home. Was that entire England series away under him or just the last test? Either way teams done fine given the fact that the teams been missing pant, Rohit, Jadeja, Iyer, bunrah and a few other key players at various points during his tenure.

It's always hard to tell how good a captain & coach are.

He's not done really done anything that's inspired any confidence, though a perfect storm of players getting injured, being out of form and Ganguly being a dickhead hasn't helped his tenure.

not qualifying for Asia Cup final was bad. India also lost the odi series in Bangladesh and very nearly ****ed up the tests there and narrowly avoided a drawn series vs Australia. as others said tough to blame him when this isn’t his team or vision but the dominance in results has slipped in this team which is obvious when you see them play and also on seeing scorecards
