Australia have done the smart thing by consciously batting time (as well as for runs). Think they're banking on this pitch wearing late on day 3 so wouldn't be surprised if they only declared tomorrow (unless they somehow collapse) after bashing around a few.

Will green have time for a county stint between the IPL and the ashes/wtc in ~july? Reckon it would be good to get a few games in him. Also can't believe that county teams refused to take green as a specialist bat in county last year and only wanted him if he was bowling yet middlesex gave there captaincy to pete bloody handscomb.

I don't mind him tonning up on any kind of pitch. It's just funny the pitches are curated like you're choosing from a fast food takeaway menu.

I think Handscomb was above Renshaw in the pecking order and it's clear that Green is actually quite comfortable on these sorts of pitches.

Head started the second test over renshaw didn't he? Thought renshaw was warner's concussion sub. Maybe Aus play green over head since head was picked partially for his bowling, hard to say.

I think the massive furore over Head's dropping almost forced them to play Head regardless of anything else tbh
