Winning the toss such a huge thing for Aus here.

One thing that is often underrated about winter tests in India is the early morning moisture that sometimes does not allow the ball to bounce as much as it usually can. This track is definitely a low bounce one but I am wondering if the ones that kept lower than normal earlier may have had something to do with the winter moisture too. Once the sun beats down, maybe it will settle down?

Moisture generally holds the pitch together and they start crumbling as they dry out

Yep, with that bounce, bringing the ball back in (ala 70% of Lyon's test wickets) is just as dangerous.

I actually agree but that's a product of how slip catching standards have seriously declined since the 2000s IMO. Junior wasn't the only great slipper who would have caught that going around in his day.

Even Kapil and Prabhakar were good slip fielders for us back in the day. Azhar was the best, of course.
