Wow just checked the stats can go with Chris Gayle instead of Desmond Haynes. Gayle had far better avg of 43 in away to Haynes 33. Gayle is also a good part time bowler and a wonderful fielder.Haynes is a textbook HTB but Hunte averaged under 40 away too, just in an era where no one noticed. And Gayle is ehhh by ATG standards too. Much of a muchness, really.
I went for Clive Lloyd as he was a Good Captain. I want the team to have a Great Captain too.Well for Lloyd at least, you have Headley (as if he’s not in your XI), Shiv and the 3 W’s all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Kanhai > Chanderpaul is closer to the truth than thatChanderpaul > Walcott
Shiv > Lloyd, easily.lol no
Wrong again.Shiv > Lloyd, easily.
Worrell was also a great captain and a very handy bowler.I went for Clive Lloyd as he was a Good Captain. I want the team to have a Great Captain too.
Thats fine, you’re entitled to yet another awful opinion.Wrong again.
Sure thing buddyHurr durr big number better I am very smart.
worrell's batting record as captain was 40 and lloyd batting record as captain was 51. so i will stick to the ecision of lloyd as captain and will remove haynes and include gayleWorrell was also a great captain and a very handy bowler.
as i have gayle and sobers will go with 4 pace bowlersworrell's batting record as captain was 40 and lloyd batting record as captain was 51. so i will stick to the ecision of lloyd as captain and will remove haynes and include gayle
tbh it's mostly a longevity thing, and nah that was probably an overreaction from me. Walcott did actually play for 12 years anyhow, but I can't bear to undermine Sir Everton DeCourcy so Clyde was the scapegoat. the 3Ws with much remorse I do believe to be not so good as CW thinks.Hurr durr big number better I am very smart and handsome
I broadly agree with this. Nourse ahead of all of them obviously. But I also think that Chanders is grotesquely overrated. Lloyd has a higher RPI than him despite batting similarly low and more innings of substance so I rate him highly.tbh it's mostly a longevity thing, and nah that was probably an overreaction from me. yeah Headley also is a good option, Chanderpaul too, worrell only if the pitch is turning too muchWell for Lloyd at least, you have Headley (as if he’s not in your XI), Shiv and the 3 W’s all ahead of him in the pecking order.
In the other thread, you said you always prefer to have a spinner in your team. Now you don't want one here?My New All Time West Indies XI

Don't like the lack of a 5th bowler but better than Botham getting massive nosebleeds at #6 imo. Stokes lacks the longevity for mine.
“He was a superb fast-medium bowler who often, as Sir Donald Bradman once remarked, "was too busy scoring runs to worry about bowling." When he was roused - as he once was by Essex bowling bouncers at the Gloucestershire batsmen - his pace could be devastating. "I never saw a man bowl faster for Gloucestershire than Wally did that day," said Tom Goddard, "and he not only battered them, he bowled them out as well."Not at ATG level, nah. He'll bowl a few overs of course but he should get thwacked.
