I was really excited for this canes team after the auction, Paris-Ellis-Meredith looked like a solid 3 man pace attack and they had neeshaw-Shabad in the top 7 for extra options. Pair that with a batting lineup of Mcdermott-Jewell-Wade-Shadab/Crawley-David-Asif-Neeshaw which really should be elite in a comp like the BBL and I thought they'de be top 2 contenders. Just had everything go wrong for them.

Canes should be dookin it out with Perth and the sixers. Their batting line up is better than Perth's though the scorchers' attack is the best, particularly in Perth. But the canes losing matches from anywhere, unable to defend a target and Perth losing Richardson opens the comp.

The fact that perth have been as competitive as they have is really impressive tbh. Lost agar to test duty, marsh, green, jhye and a few other guys im sure i've forgot and still been arguably the best team in the comp. Reminds me of the sixers last season where they had to have their coach play and still managed to make it to the finals. That mindset and depth is what seperates the scorchers and sixers from the rest.
