To me it seems there has been a really concerted effort to influence the match referee into giving a poor rating. If it was dangerous then that apparently passed me by. I've certainly seen other matches with the batsmen copping far more blows, despite the strength of the bowling.

Smith saying it was the most difficult he's played on in Australia doesn't mean much - pitches have been batting friendly through most of his career. Nor does CricViz's proclamation it had the fifth most variable bounce in Aus since '06. In my twelve years watching the only pitches I can remember where irregular bounce was persistent were the cracked Perth pitches in '18 and the later innings in '13 and '17.

I know it may sound absurd but like neutral umpires why don't we have an ICC Elite Curators who prepare pitches for Test series. Imagine, the ICC appoints groundsmen from India and England to prepare pitches for this Australia South Africa series. There will be no home advantage and an fairer contest.

You really are an idiot. It has been explained in detail to you the pitch conferred no home advantage and if anything helped SA by reducing Aus' batting advantage.

My understanding of your comment was perfectly consistent with your other comments, including your following one:
If not in Australia but captains do influence in places like India, Pakistan and rest. It's well known that Dhoni and Kohli instruct their curators.
Anyways, sorry for that.

Also South Africa. And there is no problem with it unless it goes to far. Like most things in life!

That would be terrible, but who knows Aus might still be able to take 20 wickets with this SA line-up
Even SA can easily take 20 Aus wickets. 35/4 really made them tremble for a while and made them realize that this SA team will come hard and hurt them in the next Test.

Rabada has got his mojo back and Nortje is back to his aggressiveness. Jansen will make you wobble around with his swing and Maharaj is always handy. I sense a South African win at the MCG.

You do realize Khawaja & Smith both played the kind of shots which you only play when you're in pursuit of 35, right? But SA's bowling is not their issue. The problem is their batting, which is lamentable tstl.
