You are still defending this pitch aren’t you ?
Why are you taking it so personally? No one has said that Aus Team asked for this wicket . This may be curators mistake.
If you combine bounce of Gabba with early summer Swing of England pitches, you will get pitches that would be nightmare for batting sides .
I think seam movement was the main issue here wasn't it?

International 12th Man
re WTC final. They key will be this man. if he does not play, india will struggle to beat australia in england. He single handedly won the last series in Aus. He's probably the world's top 4 pace bowler when on song(with Cummins, Jansen and Rabada).

Unfortunately, like every modern day fast bowler, Bumrah has become a lot more injury prone.

Why is this relevant to this discussion or series?

I know it may sound absurd but like neutral umpires why don't we have an ICC Elite Curators who prepare pitches for Test series. Imagine, the ICC appoints groundsmen from India and England to prepare pitches for this Australia South Africa series. There will be no home advantage and an fairer contest.
That would be a logistical nightmare , Test grounds need attention all year round , not just for Test Cricket but other forms of the game in international and domestic cricket all the way down to grassroots level .. It takes a whole lot of dedication, locals should always have a say in the development of their cricket environment .

Good to see at least that the two onfield umpires - one of them is a home country umpire. Some common-sense which is good.

Can't agree more, Jedi boy!
Jansen has the potential to be a very very fine bowler. He has the height as well as the movement to trouble quality batters.
He was outstanding in England this summer and did well in the 1st test in this series.

A top class left armer bowler is a rare thing but Jansen looks like he could be one and he'll be a major asset for SA for a decade if he can stay fit.
