Stumped!

Fielding is a bonus. Stamina impacts in game performance. Better stamina = better ball quality late into a spell + able to bat well for longer. You probably don't really need stamina for lower-middle order bats as much, but you do require it for bowlers who will give you 10 overs in SODs and wicketkeepers IMO.
This is what I`m beginning to believe as well; stamina is always useful for almost every player, except maybe you middle order bats, but even then there are times they come in earlier and/or play as an allrounder... whereas bad fielding sucks but seems less impactful overall. I do wonder if you have a good captain that 'places' your fielders well helps also mitigate poor fielding?

Yea that's one of the roles of the captain. The way ME calculates it, IIRC, is that higher captaincy skill improves the odds of the balls going towards your better fielders

actually this is a good example of why not to over-rate fielding. India basically outrate us in every department but we have a massive edge in fielding which causes the overall ratings to appear closer than they should be.

One of the things I find most frustrating about this game is that overly aggressive batsmen of poorer quality get consistently rewarded against good quality bowling...

Khattak up to 41(47) now to make him the highest skilled bowler at the club.

Ghous 30(49) having only just turned 17

Just fluttering back to the captaincy chat a bit back. Can captaincy level be considered alone or only in conjunction with experience? So, you have a captain of 12 and a captain of 10 but the first has experience of 6 and the latter 13 which would you choose (and is the rule of thumb to multiply captaincy by experience to come to an overall total?)

I'd do 2*Captaincy + 1*Experience. Not sure if that's accurate, but it feels right. You need multiple levels of experience to overcome a gap in captaincy skill. Maybe even 3*Captaincy + 1*Exp!

Z - I pulled a poor BD youth this week and have already retired him. I would feel a fraud to link such a player to your admirable and generous YP comp come nov 2 but if i read the rules rightly every BD YP you pull you should post on the thread as they will then be an entrant in the 'lucky draw' ?

Thanks

That sounds right - I'm hoping your 3 x 1 is nearer the mark than 2 x 1 as this will enable you to select a good youth captain with minimal experience sooner in his career in meaningful and tight games

Of course this is a real head scratcher in terms of judging how important a captain of 12 has been compared to one of 11 !!! :man: or even 1 !

correct! every YP is one entry into the lucky draw. I'll remove the managers who win awards for good players, and those remaining all get a chance at lucky draw. So crap pulls can still win you a prize!
