You will probably be amazed at my ignorance (there again based on my normal posts, probably not ! 
) but you cannot request ground/pitch changes for individual matches can you ? you can only make a real time adjustment?
So let's say you would like to play your spinners on a real dry pitch in 3 days time but have a really moist one for your fast bowlers in 7 days time.
You have two choices - set up the pitch now for the game 7 days in the future, or have to wait until after the dry pitch game and then hope it will get from dry to moist in 4 days (which wont happen i guess, meaning you have to kind of compromise and have a middling pitch for the first game and then adjust after it is over?)
If the game further away is a real tough and important game where u will be up against it - and the nearer one is not so important then i guess u just have to set up your pitch now for that
This leads me onto wondering how quickly you get a 0 pitch to a 100 pitch or vice versa? does that depend on whether you have covers? or is that only impacting wear?
surely depends on the ability of your groundsman ? I am afraid my groundsman is sadly neglected, lives his life in his hut and we don't even know his name.... just found out he is 5.5. The only time I remember his existence is when Z mentions his latest disastrous venture into the Groundsman TM

The speed at which you can adjust your ground is determined by how good you groundsman is in his 'adjustment' stat. My understanding is the groundsman 'consistency' ability is to recover from the playing wear and also overcome inclement weather which can make a difference.
I think if you know what you are doing and have a very good groundsman with high stats you can make quite effective changes within 3 days. But that is speculation I don't think many teams keep groundsman like that. You also obviously need the players to be able to shift between the various pitch strengths. So maybe some of the top teams can do it?!

Thanks Stephen - yes a lot of fact and sensible speculation there - i think my 5.5 guy is a bit mean now that Jura are edging into the Top 50 - it is time to bite the bullet and spend a bit more
I was going to nose around some teams and get an idea what kind of groundsman skill and or wage they were paying but there is no visibility of that...so - what kind of groundsman skill and wage are you guys holding? thanks

The wild Geese have had a rough time of it recently - particularly in the CWC cup but also in the normal matches. Just beginning a match against Winton CC in OD Div 3. We are sitting 1st and 2nd and based on the XPV if we could get a 4 point win here it would be a major leg up to taking the title.... lose and the title will then be Winton's to lose - so pretty much our (Geese and Winton) whole OD season is hinged on this little encounter!

Good win in yesterdays SOD. Both Levy and Davidson got out cheap yesterday and that left Boardman with a big job of holding the innings together. His extra experience and skill scoring his first ton for the TMOs. Johannes provided another late innings cameo to take the TMOs to a formidable score in the end. With such a tight group this win took the TMOs from 6th to 2nd in the rankings, but a big game next week against the table topping All Blacks XI is still to come...

Congrats on your win, an emphatic bowling performance from your side and with the batting your side has 140 all out was always going to be way too few runs to defend.
3 runouts in our innings is disappointing though. However, probably only the Haines one was of any significance 22/1 after 6.2 overs is a slow start but easily recoverable on a green pitch. A 2nd early wicket and the bowling side is certainly on top. However, Titt and Frith being run out at 137/7 and 139/9 cost us a few runs but certainly not enough to influence the match in any meaningful way - especially given the swift chase.
In other news - quite a DEV friendly between Winton CC and ataraXIa, we won to tie the 4 match series 2-2 - thanks for the series @ataraxia.
In a match where 619 runs were scored, there were 4 innings of 86 or more. We batted first and had laid a solid platform with Minesh Rana (67 off 70) merely a sidenote compared to the 4 innings that were to come along with Jacob West putting on 152 in 23.1 overs. Jacob West was 2nd out for 119 off 98. However, the title of best innings for Winton CC was easily taken by Wouter Zietsman - at number 3 today he scored 101 off 49 as Winton CC eventually scored 341/8 off their 40 overs.
Chasing 342 whilst ataraXIa suffered regular dismissals at one end, Ghous Saadi 91 off 78 kept them just about alive but his dismissal at 174/5 after 23.4 overs seemed to seal defeat. Even more so after South and Chambers were out to leave ataraXIa at 190/7. Despite reasonably limited support Benjamin Butler than proceeds to hit an unbeaten 86 off 43 balls to leave ataraXIa all out for 278 with 19 balls unused.
All of this on a Winton CC pitch which is usually ideal for seamers.
Will also send @SillyCowCorner1 a friendly request as think our series currently 2-1 to Charminster after an earlier win, ended up having only 3 games instead of the 4 so will send a request for the 4th at your stadium now.

Haha what a game! to complete a very fun series. Only natural that any AXI bowling lineup should get tonked on a green pitch, but still incredible stuff from Zietsman especially. 10 sixes for him.
Excellent from Butler, but I don't really like the Saadi knock tbh, for no reason other than that I've been watching with delight his compiling of fifty upon fifty up top in Dev friendlies, despite an HS of only 78 and an average hovering at 30. Has a fifty every fourth innings now lol -- can he get to 30 fifties before his career end?
Also Kotze being good up top is interesting - will try to make the most of that in his remaining four weeks at the club.

Looking at Liam Kotze it is interesting seeing his 3 over spurts up top

3-0-9-0 - and of course in the context of the 2 high scoring innings 3-0-9-0 is a lot better than it looks.
I guess not the best strike rate with the ball (although small sample size) but 12 overs for 55 makes for very economical bowling up top.
Interesting Saadi's innings got better as the series went on but sounds like he's very boom or bust with plenty of fifties but presumably low scores too to ensure an average around 30. If so not dissimilar to this series. Opens up with 4 and 7 before a 62 and 91 in last 2 games of series. 164 runs in 4 innings for an average of 41.
But yes a very fun series and not sure if coincidental but batters seemed to enjoy themselves a bit more as the series wore on - 1st innings score increasing game on game.

I'm talking about Kotze's batting : I don't think I'd've altered him opening the bowling since he joined the club! (He's a bit crap with ball in terms of BQ, as a very slow "medium pacer" bowling on even slower pitches. Prolific wicket-taker though.)
Saadi's there for the solid start, but yeah he has been a little boom or bust. Tends to fairly frequently get 30-odds as well though -- it's just that his fifties are heavily skewed towards the lower end. Quite pleasant reading (lol at SR though):

My bad re Kotze lol, I'm so used to thinking of him as a bowler (although his record shows he can certainly bat) but yeah 2 decent innings to end the series from him. Perhaps the drier pitches at Basin Reserve impacting him. On the slow but very green pitches at Winton he was your best bowler in terms of BQ in both games there.I'm talking about Kotze's batting

Saadi reminds me a bit of Minesh Rana - although Rana's SR has increased of late - it was languishing below 50 until 7 or 8 games in but has steadily risen to just above 70 since then - mostly used him on 6 aggression and moved him to the top of the order for this series - seemed to go okay 3 of his 4 scores in the 60s.
