That's rightthe "personal responsibility" narrative was spun from BP and the other major energy companies to push the blame from the producer and supplier to the consumer aka the person with the least ability to make bold choices in the supply chain of neccessities.
Mm whilst everyone has been appropriately impressed with Bumrah it feels like he hasn’t gotten the hype I expected, I don’t really follow the shorter formats but maybe he’s not as effective idk. But I thought he would’ve been super hyped being India’s first great pacer but perhaps the spin following is too ingrained.Cummins is better and I cannot think of an Indian fan who I've discussed this with who disagrees (haven't read the thread).
Bumrah is already a premium quality test bowler but he has so much room for improvement, especially in terms of consistency, new ball bowling and 4th innings intensity. He still has a strong case for being the best after Cummins which shows how insane his talent is.
He is extremely hyped in India. Absolute star in the IPL as well.Mm whilst everyone has been appropriately impressed with Bumrah it feels like he hasn’t gotten the hype I expected, I don’t really follow the shorter formats but maybe he’s not as effective idk. Yeah idk maybe I’m not as in the loop as I should be but it just came off to me that Tendulkar and Kohli and even Dhoni at certain points were just on a completely different level. He is extremely hyped in India. Absolute star in the IPL as well.
I'd still take Kapil ahead of him for longevity and performance but if Bumrah is healthy and plays like this or better for 50+ tests, easily should be India's greatest test bowler.
Have you been to America, particularly the South/Mid-Atlantic? Some of the "cars" you see going around there make crossover SUVs (which are the standard cars in that part of the world) look positively compact. It's ****ing ludicrous, so many toddlers must get run over by their own parents reversing those behemoths because it's totally impossible to see.I agree with you guys but you're simply forgetting that luxury SUVs are ****ing abhorrent and shouldn't exist. The world would be a better place without them. Just colossally wasteful.
Oh god, don't get me started on American trucks and SUVs. The fact that the Toyota Hilux is considered too small for the American market is batshit. The performance truck niche is just straight up ghastly. Literally the most pointless of all pointless creations. The Chevy Suburban is hateful too.Have you been to America, particularly the South/Mid-Atlantic? In my most recent trip there, which was earlier this year, I was given an automatic upgrade at the rental car place to a pick-up truck for the lowest car price. I refused and took the Corolla instead.Oh god, don't get me started on American trucks and SUVs. The fact that the Toyota Hilux is considered too small for the American market is bat****. the difference between driving a V8 and a 4 cylinder compared to the difference between cutting total transport emissions by half are two totally different scales.Expecting someone who's environmentally conscious to not own a V8 is nothing like expecting them to go off grid and more like expecting them to not use paper plates.
Identifying as a ute might get you a leg up in NZ politics if ute-people are underrepresented in parliament and hence an oppressed groupApparently, utes can talk and hold political positions now. Must be a Kiwi thing.
Also, no-one's forced to own a V8.
Might be that everyone thinks Cummins is slightly better and don’t mind it swinging the other way - but if everyone thinks that you end up with votes like this.Yeah expected a tighter battle especially as I feel Bumrah seems more complete as a bowler in terms of arsenal of deliveries. Though as mentioned Cummins is more consistent.
There actually is a ute tax and hence farmers (and tradies) protested against it last year. Farmers are probably underrepresented, but are definitely oppressed.Identifying as a ute might get you a leg up in NZ politics if ute-people are underrepresented in parliament and hence an oppressed group
