time for kohli to go? average info below since 2019 covid when his slump began. Lockdown, and a baby girl, his priorities are obviously changed.

Average only 36 since jan 1st 2019 to current. thats really middling. 1484 runs, only 2 centuries.

By way of example, all rounder jadeja averages around that. Kohli isnt an all rounder, does not contribute with the ball. Even great tendulkar was able to roll his arm over.

other batters are also struggling away from home. its fair to say india's dominance as a test playing nation have now ended

I am actually surprised he averages 36. Do not remember any good score from him in recent years. I thought that average will be low 20s.

yep, 36, but its a fair way down on what is expected of him given his exorbitant remuneration and endorsements. Imho he's the most overpaid athlete in the world today- no Return on investment for many years. other stars in other sports have given results appropriate to their salary. Look at the other indian players, no where near paid that much.

Among specialist batsmen since 2020 with a minimum of 500 runs, the 6 worst batsmen by average are Ajinkya rahane, John Campbell, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rory Burns and Virat Kohli. Kohli is the only one who hasn't been dropped from the team once during this entire period. Yes, it's because he's had a much better career than those guys, but patience has to be wearing thin.

Broad was padded up near the end of play. Now known as England's Official NightHawk.

'Another novelty is a renewed look at the role of nightwatchman, with the run chases at Lord's, Headingley and Edgbaston seeing Stuart Broad padded up as next man in with instructions to slog quick runs, rather than bat through to the close. This role dubbed 'Nighthawk' has not yet been deployed but is eagerly anticipated'.

Never thought that I’d see John Campbell’s name and Kohli’s in the same sentence…

Well played, England. They've either just killed Test cricket as we know it or made it the most exhilarating fix in town. I wonder if teams will pick up this philosophy across the board; I imagine they'll have to if they want to compete, but players the calibre of England's super-trio aren't exactly commonplace. Now if only Mccullum can work his voodoo on Jos Buttler...

A WhatsApp fwd doing the rounds says that Kohli was picked up by some mics saying to Lees 'I've got way more money than you'. Lees replies 'I'm not arsed mate,' and then Kohil says 'who even are you?' and Lees says 'mate I've had 2 babies since the last time you scored a hundred, big un.'

No source and could be absolute drivel but I am selectively choosing to believe it

Yes, I think this has the ring of truth about it. Shades of Jimmy Ormond and Mark Waugh in a way.
