Stumped!

Ah well, Jura are following the Buy-Ins strategy of playing AX-W. That is, thrashing us.

Some knock from 18yo Jacob Sampson, it must be said.

Shahboss joins the CWC5 century club as well, thumping Plymouth Pirates to the tune of 102* off 68. Bit slow, clearly wanted the milestone rather than hitting out selflessly for the team

yeah he should have slogged that one and got another six
Its just the consistency of high BQ balls going for runs and lower BQ balls getting wickets... I still think BQ is a number that misrepresents the quality of ball regarding wicket taking ability.

Schmaltzberg on the way to a gut-wrenching one-run loss again just like Tuesday
Trust me this is not TMOs format... you gonna get this easily.

Yes this is known. (Although, your really big wicket of the day fell to a 9/10 ball.)
Yeah.. reading on the forum I think it indicates more where the ball gets pitched than anything else, along with the quality of the batsmen facing it. Doesn't seem to represent any movement or batsmen being deceived.

However I also think high BQ effects shot selection of batsmen, and if your batsmen face high BQ they will play the ball based on the BQ... but simultaneously its quite obvious that attacking and slogging increases your chance of getting out quite considerably (even with high attack ability). So you find that low BQ balls get attacked more often but take more wickets, but high BQ balls tend to get blocked more. So its almost worth throwing in a poor bowler (or low L&L) on occasion that has a trait like partnership breaker or F&G and/or with decent movement/variation, because they take extra wickets. I have not tested that fully though...

this is why I keep bowling Menno Fouche (poker-faced 24 skill) for Morpork

it does work, but it's unreliable and the longer he bowls the worse it works, it feels. (You can see from his OD friendly record the failure mode)

You have to get the timing right... and maybe only bowl one or two overs.

I am also realizing how powerful the superstar trait is, for similar reasons... I have now seen it effect games in all sort of ways, from run outs to big overs even as a poor bowler. It feels like a catch all trait that 'turns a match'. I am not sure how totally effective it is but it seems lots of the top teams look for at least one or two in their team. It is something I naturally dislike because I dislike those sort of players in real life... so have actively avoided. I am probably gonna have to change that.

Mooo CC absolutely decimated the Woodchucks, scoring over 200 and then rolling them over for 43. A massive NRR boost; which is the superior one in the standings right now.

Mike Warfield's 84* (37), laced with 6 fours and 8 sixes!
The bowlers all bowled well, Werm and Henton with 3 wickets apiece, Gul with 2...

GG CC got over the line against FHK in a match that got closer in the end stages. It was all GG in the first innings. Xenos struck thrice in one over to cripple FHK's middle order. It was a decent recovery that took them to 149/8 with Law unbeaten on 56 (32). Abdullah made 52 in no time, but when he fell the score was only 76.

The chase started well for GG, they were racing along...but at the expense of wickets. Penn (49 off 29) and Levy (54 off 36) steadied the ship for a bit...and then it was wickets again...hopefully, D souza and Cornelius Human (batting at number 8) batted with calm heads and took their team home.

the Xenos/Ijaz pairing has really blossomed into something truly monstrous while i was away huh
Yes, they've been quite lethal of late....only recently have I let Xenos bowl the first over. He's much younger than Ijaz, and I just felt that his unorthodox action can make things happen. Ijaz on the other hand is more of a backup bowler...he doesn't have any 'bowling' traits...only speed lol.
