Stumped!

GG racked up 394 against a bot, and then bowled them out for 33.

No one made a century, but there were half-centuries from Nalin Mandhatri 83 off 103, Peter Sutherland opening the batting for the second time in his career with 52 off 38, Robin Oxley 64 off 39, and 16-year-old Rhys Postlethwaite with 58 off 57.

Cornelius Human opened the bowling and registered figures of 7-1-14-4, he was well supported by another 16 year old, Arthur Petley (4-0-5-3), and the other wicket taker Sebasten Plaatjies (4-1-8-2).

GG CC sits mightily atop the table with 7 wins in 7 games.

A comfortable five-wicket win today (although setting Menno to 7 aggression just resulted in a golden duck) but it just underscored the consequences choking last week had. Winning there would have put me second and @jan fourth, as it stands it's the other way around, and I just have one point to the relegation zone instead of four. With one of the teams below me being a rebuilding former giant that can easily put a 65k side out any time they like, that's worrying.

FHK going well defending 246. Asking rate 6.43 but they still have wickets in hand.

If FHK win tonight, they'll have the same SOD League record as ZCC this season - 4 wins and 3 losses, but with one bonus point more!

EDIT: Win with a bonus point! So after 7 games in Div 2., ZCC have 21 points while FHK have 23. Safe to say I didn't expect this at the halfway stage! Both Div 2.1s too!

League cricket is a killer. This is why I think a community and competition like CWC is excellent. So many games against so many different opponents and in so many conditions, really lets you test out various combinations. Iron sharpens Iron.

Speaking of which - can you believe that in 14 encounters between TMO and FHK there has yet to be a single T20? We've got to correct that this Tuesday @StephenZA

Richard Simmonds hit 134* (151) in the SOD. He's still only 18; long-term opening prospect. However, apart from his opening partner Winton no one really supported him and we lost. :(

Simmonds hit 109 push shots, and is now the highest CW runscorer this competitive season with 737 runs at 43.35. The highest wicket-taker is Haidar Khattak of @Marcuss (who is unbeaten in all of his leagues). Khattak has 43 wickets in 17 matches at 8.14.

CWC highlights:

Moooo vs Ashgrove was a humdinger of a game, Moooo agonisingly close to an impressive surprise victory. Terrific Thomas Marsden knock in the first innings. 81 (42) in the middle overs. Good hands from Zaheer Bilal (89 off 111 also for the Astronauts) and Truman (below)

The Hunks beat Charminster fairly comfortably. No fairytale for Dipesh Mehra, missing out on both the century and the bonus point.

Winton did a good job bot-thrashing. Bernard Mayer 123* (67) from #6.

AXI bet AX-W, not to much surprise. Richard Simmonds out for 98, marathon knock. That's 297 balls faced in two consecutive innings. Player. A few other highlights in there, but in the end a 130-run win.

Branning hit 101 (45) in the AX after-party. Wow. Even promoting the hapless Darnell as pinch-hitter worked in a 124-run win.

ZCC going in with a weakened lineup again today vs TMO and we need 12 to win with just 2 wickets in hand. Nailbiter!

Burger 8-1-17-3. I thought he was supposed to be **** now

perfectly executed leave indeed.

clutch cameo by Ghani seals the win! TMO snag the bonus pont.

Meanwhile BD have just taken their first wicket vs NZ...

Raun's safe hands nabs us our 2nd wicket! NZ batting really well, I'm worried about chasing 200+.

Almost got away with a heist versus the Astronauts.

Zack Truman and Mike Warfield did what they had to do in the lower-middle order...

Yeah, but losing 3 wickets in an over is never good.

And to the GG-Morpork match, I am happy to see that our boys triumphed. Mark Jardine with a decent all-round performance. 3 for 45 with the ball and then a run-a-ball 42 with the bat. Peter Sutherland opening the batting with Bram Human was always gonna be fun, even though he lasted 4 balls the partnership 13 runs in 9 balls. Bram held the innings together while the Morpork bowlers chip away with the wickets.
Bram fell in the 22nd over for 74 in 74 balls. The score was only 119. But with the experience of Jardine and D souza at the crease, the chase felt comfortable enough. They added 84 (78) for the 5th wicket. Just what the doctor ordered.

Next week we have the TMOs to deal with...

Thumped. Not 96 a/o bad (Poor SA), but a disappointing loss none the less. Let NZ score maybe 50 above par and then Raun and Sajid dismissed early in the chase. Surprisingly high scoring game given the amount of wear, NZ's batting was on point. I wanted to bowl first as I figured we'd might be able to take a few early wickets due to the wear, and we bowled really well up front but just couldn't crack them. They cashed in off our 5th bowler and the death, and tho we started very strongly in the chase an untimely runout sparked the collapse. Magesh and Nauman fought back well but we were always just 1 wicket away from getting bowled out quick, and so it transpired.

Nice game in the end. Was always 20 or 30 short. Burger will hopefully turn it around for the rest of the season.

Peter Sutherland & Bram Human opening the batting is my favorite thing on Stumped! right now....

Currently playing a match against Mooo, and both of them looking dangerous.

81/0 in the 12th over

Sutherland 45 off 42
Bram 30 off 27

A tough loss for me, batting first was not the call and Bram took the game away from us. Congrats! Opening the batting with Van Heerdens also an experiment that probably won't be repeated

Sajith's last 5 innings:

Out for 7 off 24 in our Cup Round 5 game today, his lack of runs is turning into quite an issue :/

The last time we faced Admirers of the Gavin Hamilton Test Average was also in the Cup, in a Round 5 match where they beat us by 4 wickets on our home turf. Now we're playing at their ground, and understandably they've sent us in to bat first after winning the toss. Slow dry pitch, bit of wear and cloud cover. We've gone in with 4 seamers and a spinner, not sure what a good score for us will be here but we would have batted first as well. Rather have some runs on the board for our bowlers to work with given we don't have the best attack for the conditions. In a way it's a relief to have that decision taken out of our hands.

Off to a bad start tho, 23/1 in 9 overs.

bloody hell if you're not picking Chester on that pitch when are you playing him
Was really tempted to but A) 6 exp vs Hashim's 20 and B) Hashim's added batting might be useful. Also Hashim's really just sticking around to win us Cup games while Chester already played the SOD league game + has the Dev game tomorrow.

Hope I don't regret it.
