Something's up with our batting of late. First attacking shot of the innings in the 14th over, 34/1 in 14.

I mean, this go slow worked at the start worked vs the Astronauts. Not sure if it's always going to work but let's see how this plays out...

Furqan's fatigue gets the best of him. Still a bit knackered from his ton on Friday, entered this game at 73% condition. Bad time to get out tho. Need something special from these two now.

A classic wicket-fest of a T20 vs the Astronauts. In no time AXI were 3 down for 5. Kurt Murdoch did his SS-dominant thing with a fighting 26 (25), on 9 aggression lol. Keeper-captain Zac Chambers usefully slogged his way to 40 (29). 89-9 became 114-10 thanks to Ludlow equally the AXI #11 HS, 19 (14) (weird unimportant bug here, the partnership is one short of what it should be because there was a run as well as a wicket on the final ball of the partnership).

Managed to then reduce Ashgrove to 99-9, before Frederick Yardley performed his own #11 special. Howell Brown held his cool to castle Yardley for 13 (8) to seal up a two (!) run win. I seem to usually lose these close ones, so good to win this one.

Zack starting to look good and I need to sleep. Hope I awake to us finding a spot in Round 5 :) If not, at least I won't watch the loss unfold live
So out of cup we go, crashing out to the same opponent in consecutive seasons. Only managed 234/8 - Raun, Ahsan and Heshan dismissed in the 30s, while Zack managed 67. That might have been enough tho. We took a wicket first ball, and had them 148/5 in 35 overs! A 6th wicket partnership of 78 from 59 took the game away from us. Harry Hadden 0/51 but a 7.8 ball quality, while Hashim/Ashan took 1/43 combined in their 10 with a ball quality around 4. So not quite sure if it was the right move to leave out Tim Chester.

Definitely feels like a game we should have won, but maybe not enough runs on the board, and that in part ties into the fatigue issues coming in from the league game. The challenges of the Cup. This loss means Zack Yattack and Hashim Zahid will be on the market soon.

Going in with this lineup today:

Aat Bernstein
Tsungirirai Meyiwa
Tharindu Santhiapillai
Edwin Gibbons
Jigar Chengelpet
Hadi Hafeez
Alex Hayden (wk)
Richard McCormack
Jamil Gul (c)
Alf Henton
Lahiru Vethanayagam

The top order looks solid with Bernstein and Meyiwa being two of Mooo’s most experienced batsmen (across formats). The recently acquired Santhiapillai from GG CC adds stability to the lineup as he is a defensive batsman and have played some decent knocks of late. Gibbons is full of talent and potential and I am hoping he clicks today. Chengelpet is down the order today in hopes that he finishes the innings well. I’m giving Hafeez more chances as the all-rounder in the team…Hayden is there more for his keeping than his batting…McCormack’s batting has improved a lot in recent times…Jamil Gul, no comments lol.

Alf Henton is one of the star bowlers for Mooo across formats and Vethanayagam adds a calm head with his accuracy in bowling.

I’m expecting a score of 176 if we bat first…our bowling should rise to the occasion, restrict them for 155 at most.

Henton got all the wickets after Lahiru and McCormack softened them up

Meanwhile, Yattack on the market huh. Tempted, although realistically I don't need another bat right now

Zack going for 367,500 now. Hope he goes for significantly more than that!

Hashim Zahid's picked up a token 2k bid from Charminster, so he's on his way out too. Should arrange a farewell friendly for them on Thursday.

First T20 between FHK and TMOs completed... with FHK coming out victorious. Con-grats @cnerd123. Bit of a tough pitch, but also lots of boundaries. 140 was never quite enough had hoped for closer to 160 but only Davidson put up a decent fight. Burger also starting to come back into his own again.
