*Official* England in West Indies 2022

Impressive partnership, we need to hit them hard tomorrow and let Wood off the leash immediately!

wi england seems to be one of the most competitive contests and each of the series since like 2015 has been so frickin good

Holder is technically our best batsmen and Bonner tends to bat more deliveries than anyone else in our lineup, so I'm not hugely surprised that they are battling back.

Of course they should never have been having to rescue us if Campbell, Kraigg and Brooks hadn't been so stupid.

I'm not sure why Brooks played ahead of Mayers. Our batting lineup is very right handed and Mayers can bowl as well.

Whatever it takes!!!
Ideally, I would play Mayers ahead of Alzarri and have the extra batting cushion. But Brooks always looks a million bucks but gets out for 20s. So I am really not sure if Alzarri is actually gonna be a worse bet than him even just as a batsman at this level.

Bonner > Mayers

Also glad to see the dumping of the old men for noted overseas strike bowler Chris Woakes has paid off.

About 200 max apparently. Tests starting on Tuesday to suit the UK television deal means West Indians can't watch from the start and the location of the stadium means it's difficult to pop in after work.

Also most Antiguans work in the hospitality & tourism sector and 2,000 Brits on holiday after 2 years without them = locals having to work.
i noticed the caribbean cricket podcast complaining too that england only ever play on the 'holiday islands' and never seem to go to T&T, guyana or jamaica anymore. i guess it make sense from a £ perspective but makes for an absolutely drab atmosphere playing in places like antigua when all you can here is that dickhead and his trumpet.

LOL yeah that dickhead you mention is very proud of his trumpet, it just never stops.
Talk about blowing your own trumpet.

Yeah that has long been a source of annoyance, but tbh it is the brutal, selfish world of the modern ICC (ECB being one of the chief offenders) where just to survive Cricket West Indies has to make the most of England and India tours, cowtowing to broadcasters and working with local governments to prioritise tourists.

I heard a crazy stat from our CEO Johnny Grave. Just 2 rounds of 4 day matches cost CWI well over $1 Million. It is just so expensive to host cricket in the West Indies and since the ICC changed the revenue system we only make money hosting England and India. We lose significant amounts in literally every other series.

Yeah Mayers plays ahead of Brooks every time for me. Bizarre decision.

Brooks over Mayer's seems really, really odd tbh. I know Mayer's average is massively carried by that 200, but 35/25 as an all-rounder is ****ing good, don't know why you drop that for a specialist bat who averages 28 in test cricket who has a fc average of 31, same as Mayer's.
