We are due collapse in second innings. Think NZ will need two and a half sessions in last day for the result.
That depends on NZ knocking over the tail, NZ overcoming the deficit and scoring fast enough to declare (and if that happens I don't know if Latham and Stead would risk losing in attempting to win if a declaration is possible at any stage for NZ).

fmd bangladesh are digging in well. full credit to them, though they'll be disappointed to not have already put the boot in by tonning up.

tomorrow is make or break for both sides i think.

dropping wtc points in this series is unacceptable tbh. they've gotta find a way.

jurgensen has copped some flak from doull in the past for boults decline. jamieson losing his outswinger for longer than a test or two might raise more since we're used to him being the instant win button.

How much do you put it down to it being a dead pitch? I think the groundsman deserves a bit of flak for the sort of pitch he's produced. No excuse for a pitch of this nature at this time of year.

I'm surprised that the commentary team talk up the Bay Oval every year. I've never been there before, but the ground looks lacking to me, and certainly wouldn't call it beautiful from what I see on the telly. It looks to be in dire need of some trees or some sort of shade for the crowd.

Ravindra will be a quality test top 6 batter (probably opener). His part-time spin bowling is a bonus. Santner was was normally picked as the 4th bowler (with de Grandhomme taking the batting all-rounder + 5th bowler role). So not "the exact same sort of player" .

If we picked Ajaz ahead of Ravindra we would have 5 bowlers. Aussie don't pick 5 bowlers. They pick 4 bowlers and a batting all-rounder.
Yeah this is really true. England aren't exactly India's quality with the bat bar root and 3 pace bowlers plus Lyon would probably be enouh against there lineup, but having somoene like green who can come on and constantly keep the pressure up while starc/cumm haze are resting makes so much of a difference. Having 5 bowlers who weren't giving freebies compared to 4 in the 3rd test made that England attack so much harder to deal with.

Gonna sook and say this pitch is dire. England didn't survive here because they're bad, Pakistan should have drawn here and so should Bangers.
