Engineer above Sehwag? Feels bad to have Kohli at 6 and Laxman at 7 then. Would like one of Jadeja and Kumble in as well in that list.

Indias mid 00s batting, with today's bowling would be very strong. Only a tier or 2 behind Windies 80s and Aus 00s
Imo you're underselling india and I'm not even Indian. This current bowling with '00 batting is a smidgen behind those two teams. And the reason imo comes down to something very fundamental in cricket: fielding.

The draft fanatics have just completed a draft whereby participants selected specialists in a specific order. The final 30 selections involved picking a pace attack. Players such as Imran Khan, Miller and Botham had been snared in the all-rounder category but it is interesting to see the order in which other names went. Here are the 30 players nominated and the orded in which they were taken.

Some selections may have been based on batting ability as well as bowling. I was expecting names such as Bedser, Philander, Tyson and Harris to feature, but there were only 30 selections

If members are interested I can post the order in which the 20 openers were selected.

With regard to hb's request to list all-rounders, there are factors that need to be considered. players such as Kallis were taken to bat higher than the nominated #6 slot while others, such as Hadlee and Dev were preferred as specialist bowlers. Here are the nominated 10 in order.

G.Sobers
S.Waugh
K.Miller
Shakib al Hasan

Don't know, or care tbh, how drafts work but Watson being able to bowl would be a reason he was chosen ahead of other openers in a common sense scenario

Again, if that's not how drafts work and you can't pick an opening batsman as a 5th or 6th bowler that's great, disregard the comment.

Not all drafts are the same, but there is no restriction on picking batsmen who might fill a bowling position. In the case of the recent "Orderly Draft" contestants picked 2 openers, #3 and #4 bats, a # 5 bat and an allrounder, a 'keeper and a spinner and finished picking 3 quicks. TJB's comment is quite valid.
