Stumped!

Weird week of games for ZCC and FHK. FHK got thumped in the T20 league despite massively outrating the opposition, while ZCC fell 3 runs shot of an upset. Then in a friendly OD between the two sides, FHK hammered a basically full strength ZCC team! Tim Chester didn't bowl well at 5DNOL, and then ZCC lost their top 4 for basically nothing chasing 250.

That result prompted ZCC to not pick Chester for their OD League game the following day, which was also on a dry wicket, and they won that pretty easily, while the same FHK XI that beat ZCC dropped their 2nd league game of the week in basically identical conditions. Nathan Law hit a brilliant unbeaten ton and Joshua Wong slammed 21 off 8 from number 11, but we fell 18 runs short in the chase.

Those two losses for FHK mean we're now suddenly at risk of staying in Div 3 for another season! This 1 up/3 down system is incredibly harsh.

The main team limits Morpork to 182, the affiliate limits JOJO to 215. Should be an interesting couple of chases.
Ataraxia Wellington at 98/4 after 25.3 overs chasing the 216 target set by JoJo. 41 from opener Lawrie Milbank along with an 84 run stand for the 4th wicket between Ihsaan Muradi (75 from 104) and Harris Ghaffar (32 from 54) were the bedrock of our innings before a collapse from 154-3 midway through the 31st over to 215 all out. John Ward (3-28 from 10 overs) and Dan Price (3-45) sharing 6 of the 10 wickets between them.

Delicately poised - a few more quick wickets and we can hopefully pile the pressure on but a few quiet overs for Ataraxia Wellington and they'll be decently poised with not too much run rate pressure currently.

Seamer Saleem Saleem started with sixteen consecutive dot balls, and I was quickly in danger at 39-4. But a counterattack from Arthur Branning handed the game to me. His 63 (68) was ably supported by Kurt's 25 (53), Davey's 32* (47), and Howell Brown 25* (44). Brown has had a fabulous debut; with the ball he got 3-29. Really a fantastic day all-round for the recent acquisitions.

Not surprised that my homegrown mix of mediocrity could only manage 151, but hoping for better returns in the CWC. On to some delicate order-setting.

A good game and for at least half of your innings decently placed but then wickets started to tumble, the lower middle-orders for both our sides not really turning up.

Jura are killing AX-W in the CWC. Their club individual high score was 161, by Tinozivaishe Zikhungwini in a bot bash. He's on 174* (114) with an over to go. Not to mention Liam Wilton's 129 (69).

I have just wandered into the ground, i have to say it is a surprising but satisfying state of affairs to see 430-4 posted and the opposition 22-3 . As dear old Will said - there's many a slip between cup and lip but this looks like a win in the moulding...

O Callaghan and Schofield are trying to build a recovery platform but not at the speed needed - asking rate is now over 10 though with Hobbs now on - providing his usual fare of buffet bowling - runs are coming

Honest Hunks putting up a good fight v Dynamo Schmaltzberg at the moment. 5 wickets in hand and need 96 from 96 to win chasing 249.

I have never had a player of that level of actual skill - I see he had potential of 52. What was the highest his actual ever reached ? When was that? If there has been a fall is it because he has not had the games or just the passage of time?

Why would you put him out to grass so early when he is the best actual bowler you have total actual skill wise and not so epensive wage wise?
You are intimating he has lost form/touch yes because of his age - but form touch is a temporary thing isn't it and not influenced by age?

These are genuine queries on my part - hence all the question marks l :D I'm not querying your thought process, knowledge and experience- just using it as a learning lifebelt for me to grab onto !
I've no idea what his highest was, I bought him at 41 skill and aged 29 - he actually hasn't declined that much in that time, but I've never managed to find a role where he bowls effectively, possibly because my allrounder is already a fingerspinner and his accuracy was never his strongest suit. Right now he's averaging 45 with the ball and his econ is well north of 5 in about two seasons of work for me. This is influenced by him only playing in games against the strongest opposition, but still, my attack isn't working as well as I'd like it to.

Key wins for The Buy-Ins in group B and The Merry Orangutans in group C - Ashgrove threw away a strong start to Ncanana and De Klerk, who took eight wickets between them, while Free HK stopped creating chances once they had their opponents five down and then collapsed in the face of runs on the board.

Babar Ijaz has just taken a key third wicket for GG but this one could go down to the wire
