Is Ashwin an ATG spinner / player?

Lillee, Hadlee and Murali are the only ones with that kind of a record, apart from Ashwin. Hadlee was the only one who could bat at the same level as Ashwin.
Ravichandran Ashwin is a one off in history. Lets celebrate him here a lot more than we are doing now.
He is around Shaun Pollock-level as an all-rounder really. Which is still very good.

It is in response to the below.
I would assume he meant at something resembling ATG averages…

Yasir is a unique case in that regard.

But there is a base filter - that you need to have an overall average at least approaching ATG levels.

The best argument for Ashwin not being an ATG is indeed asking if one thinks Philander is.
Having said that, I think Ashwin > Philander so…

Well, thats the thing, it wouldnt matter if Philander had 300 or 400 wickets and kept his even more impressive home record, the question of him being an ATG bowler wouldnt enter the picture. He will always be seen as a green track bully.

Like how Ashwin is still an SC bully?

How do we think of Fred Trueman? Also has disparity in his record and played >2/3rd tests at home.
