you can be below Warne and still be an ATG.

I think Ashwin is up there in the consideration as the best spin bowler in history not named Warne or Murali

Ashwin averaged 25.11 with Bumrah in team and 23.99 without him.

Warne leant over his partner's shoulders a lot more than Ashwin.

Lillee, Hadlee and Murali are the only ones with that kind of a record, apart from Ashwin. Hadlee was the only one who could bat at the same level as Ashwin.
Ravichandran Ashwin is a one off in history. Lets celebrate him here a lot more than we are doing now.

Its not removal if you look at a portion of someone's record, like Warnes in India or Ashwin in SENA. It is removal if you take out countries from someones overall record to make them look worse.

Yes, there are only a handful of ATG spinners since spinners are a rarer breed than batsmen and pacers generally.

If Kumble can be lumped in with Murali or Warne as an ATG then the term doesnt really mean much.
