Is Ashwin an ATG spinner / player?

clearly says player. Do you want me to look at the statsguru page you are looking through instead?
Where? Your quote is below.

Yeah like post 2015 SENA, I am sure.

You can keep excusing every good performance as a spinning pitch or weak opposition when people who have actually watched the games know it was neither. I mean, if an ATG can be someone who relied on bottle tops and cheating umpires, I feel someone who actually performed and won games at home with neutral umpires and no ball tampering is definitely an ATG. And a better one.

Coz I didn't say bowler and I dont think Imran is an ATG as a bowler. He is ATG as a player. And for someone who can mug up statsguru, you should learn to read more than one post from me before you decide what I think.
And perhaps you can admit that post can give a different impression to readers than what you posted elsewhere since you only refer to bowling. Its ok though. Lets move on.

Nah, coz I am not the one insisting someone said something they plainly did not. And its your fault if you assume something that was never said, not the posters'.

What Flem said about Bumrah is completely true. India only became the world beating team because now, they've been able to consistently produce excellent fast bowlers who can perform overseas while Ashwin and Jadeja take a back seat.
Yes, coz like I said earlier, we need decent pace bowlers to exploit the overseas conditions where pace bowlers are more suited while it is the other way round in SC conditions. Of course there can be exceptions once in a while.

Also, if pace bowlers were really effective everywhere, why do you see SENA teams going with spinners(even if they are mediocre) in SC? And why aren't their pace bowlers winning them games here?

Imran Khan not ATG as a bowler is a crazy opinion. Unless you think there have only been at most 9-10 ATG bowlers in cricket history.
Which, given a 2:1/3:1 ratio for pace vs spin, might kind of make sense then if you think there are only 2-3 ATG spinners.

Not that I agree with it personally.

Tbf, it's not as if the none Asian spinners are winning them many tests in Asia either.

Probably because Asian spinners like Jadeja and Ashwin and Murali are probably as unplayable in their home conditions as Philander was in RSA. Nevertheless, you'll hardly see a spinner rip through decent batting lineup outside of Asia, the way Steyn ripped through India years ago, or Donald and co did to India in 2002, or Gillespie and co to India in 2004. Fact is, none of Walsh, Hadlee, Ambrose, Donald, Pollock, McGrath, Marshall, Steyn whomever, have bad records in Asia, compared to "most" spinners. Warne and to an extent Murali would be the only recent exceptions, hence why they're held in such high esteem.

Nah thats what I'm saying though I have a hard believing that you think that there are only 10 ATG pacers.
