When a bilateral T20 has a more lively crowd than a T20 world cup final!

Definitely, Paytm >> ICC T20 2021 WC

By omitting Finn Allen from the WC squad, they've also omitted him from this tour, and impacting our 2022 tournament.

Good point. Some lack of planning which is quite rare on the management part but that said Darryl was going to open i guess was decided hence Finn's omission. Don't see a point in playing rachin, batting him at 6 and not bowling him. His bowling in t20 is superior to his batting imo. Hope they don't decide not to play him in tests based on his t20 form. Ideally Finn should have been there even if he was going to bat at no 6

If Jimmy is fit to play, he'll. He's a hot stock right now and possible will go for good money in the big ipl auction coming up.

Either

He's not going to start in a test, so gets some game time this week, or

He's going to play in the 1st test, so gets a run now to get a look at Siraj and Ashwin and Axar Patel. And doesn't bowl because they don't want his confidence dented by some 6 hitting.

I really wish NZ could've played 2 first class matches instead of this meaningless T20 series.

Bowling is toothless. Will any of Neesham, Phillips, or Mitchell get a bowl?

3 off 12 might not help his cause? Holy hell. Looks like we absolutely **** the bed at the death

Milne bowled decently today. His final spell was quality & had Iyer beaten for Pace multiple times.
Indian batsmen will never play Boult that well in a ICC tournament.

Heh, there's that weakness in this NZ side we all thought would bite in the world cup but didn't. Middle-lower order finishing is Neesham or bust. Dunno what went wrong with him today, but aside from him Seifert, Santner and bowlers unable to even score at a run a ball. Most teams would have scored 180 from that platform.

India win the JAM prize.

Think Mitchell should drop down to help with the middle/lower order finishing. Good to see him getting top order opportunities after being on the fringe for 2+ years, but there’s no shortage of openers to partner Guptill.

I think he's done well as opener but you're probably still right, there are other opening options and Mitchell imo more capable than anyone else as a finisher to help Neesham.

Recorded both of these games - the first one was still a pretty decent game to watch despite the result, but I'm not sure if I'll even bother with this one.

I once thought that the month or two following the T20 World Cup would have a brief recess from T20s but the grind goes on and on.

The best mix is Conway opening, Mitchell finishing. Was a hell of a knock in the semi final, but Conway is capable too.

Don’t know if it’s the challenges of bowling second late in the day or if he’s going through an indifferent phase, but Santner has been pretty ordinary of late, with boundary balls creeping in. Without him offering control the attack looks a bit hamstung. Need him to bounce back soon - hopefully this game. Don’t have great expectations of his batting, but no use having him at no. 7 if he can’t smack it around from ball one.
