batting 6 with a couple of knocks at 3 against current england....and that's it

if he was sri lankan no one would mention him in the same breath as the fab 4. if you want an outsider that isn't babar azam, it's fawad alam.
Lol classic case of not watching. He earned every run in that series especially Headingley

i watched bro. i think i even posted during one of those knocks he looked like exactly the sort of young prick who would drive nz insane.

he was quality, but it was one series. if he's not from a wanker country with media sway then nobody cares.

I mean those knocks were against Broad/Archer/Stokes. Not exactly fodder especially with some of the conditions we saw that series. Such a Flem post
And Woakes. Headingley first dig was hard as they come

he's good, but if you think he would be getting mentioned as a possible fab 4 entrant if he was sri lankan based on one good overseas series then you're being silly.
Aren't some of you guys bigging up Conway and Rachin based on even lesser than that?
no. fuller pilch and i have asked the question 'could he?' and trolled a bit. even less has been said about ravindra, but don't let me stop you trying to drag this down into dick waving.

Norwood's on Fire
Context matters as well though. Is there a more significant gig for an Australian cricketer than debuting in an away Ashes series, standing in for Steve Smith?

Being important to Australia =/= instantly joining the top 4 batsman in the world.

Otherwise you may as well put Tim Paine in there.

Well Loose bus change is averaging 60 after 18 tests and is currently ranked 4th in the world for test batting ahead of Rohit and Kohli in 5th and 6th respectively. He definitely needs to be considered.

Lu bu champagne seems decent but honestly the "there are more than the fab four" arguments always seem shite cos it captured a moment in time and no one else covers that.

Whatever Babar, Conway, Fawad etc are, it's not "the fab four"

Yes, the other thing this always devolves into is who are the Beach Boys/ Rolling Stones?

Smith is Lennon, probably enjoys getting naked and beating his wife.

Kane is George, ripping his technique against spinners straight from Ravi (Shastri).

Root is Ringo, initially just looks filler but gets more interesting with age.

Kohli is McCartney to the point where he died 3 years ago and they had to quickly replace him with a doppelganger.
