Root too tbh. And by the 4th test, we did have that field for Root. So here's hoping.Need a captain with balls to put both a deep third man and a short third for Kane. I don't think anyone in the history of the game has made more runs from that shot, percentage wise.
Maybe he misheard “worst”?![]()
Aussie Star Names "Fab 5" Batters, Rates Virat Kohli Above Steven Smith, Babar Azam | Cricket News
"In Test match cricket, I am always going to say Virat Kohli," Watson said, when asked by Isa Guha who he thought is the best Test batter in the world.sports.ndtv.com
Watto playing to his core audience here, surely - he can't honestly think this, can he?
He’s had a good run, but its not really remarkable. I can think of many other batsmen with similar overall records. i.e home average ~60, away average low 40s or worse and end up averaging about 50. “it isn’t even close” is insulting to all 3 of them. Personally I find them hard to split at the moment, and probably won’t ever make any definitive judgement until their careers are much closer to being finished.Right now, the best test bat is Root but overall, careers so far it is Kohli > Root > Williamson and it isn't even close. Kohli has had a remarkable run as test bat.
Stats belie the fact that he has a century every other game down under and has produced two great centuries in SA and Eng in recent times. He’s had a good run, but its not really remarkable. anyone want to necro any other threads where one of the fab four has been mentioned? any threads that were started circa 2017 floating around that someone hasnt bumped yet?Root
The best part about this post is it's not even exaggerating the tiniest bit.Williamson averages 38 away from home. Cool your jets. He barely gets into the NZ ATG XI, and that's only because the nation has produced 2 proper world class players in their history.
I tried to find the "One century in 17 Tests since the 2019 Ashes and averaging under 40 is Steve Smith finished" thread but couldn't find it.anyone want to necro any other threads where one of the fab four has been mentioned? any threads that were started circa 2017 floating around that someone hasnt bumped yet?
