Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah got lots of time for Shardul. Think he will succeed in international cricket. Would help if he can be decent with the bat and in the field too. Definitely see him playing ODIs before long.
Won us a series in Australia. I think has won us a series in England. In his first 3 tests away from home and basically his first 3 tests (since he walked off injured in his first one after 5 balls). ??????

Rohit will be 34 and a half by the time he gets white ball captaincy

How many ICC tournaments can he possibly lead us in? One World Cup and one world T20, maybe two world T20s at a push?

Need to groom a new white-ball captain. Giving it to Rohit is extremely short-term.

WC 2023 is highly important considering it will be played in India.

Yeah, this should have happened about 3 years ago instead

who do we even have for limited overs captaincy? kohli and rohit are older. dhawan is old and not a prospect. rahul has never found a footing in the odi side. shreyas is in and out, shaw hasn't played much at all. do we just intend to stick it on pant after rohit?

It's done and dusted ????
Good decision by Virat. And I think people are overestimating Rohit's captaincy skills. He is more friendly and will be very different to Virat's style which might help some of our players, now that they have had the Virat style for 5 years. He will be more like MSD but his tactical thinking can be wanting a lot of the times. People forget his captaincy was bad in the Nidahas final coz of DK's awesomeness. He is surrounded by 15 or so coaches in the MI set up and that helps him out huge.

That said, I think this is the right decision by Virat coz it is obviously starting to impact his batting and he has to get some of his freedom back as a batsman.
