Morpork still unbeaten in CWC3, Schmaltzberg did a spirited chase of a massive 298 on a wicket offering something to the spinners but in the end all the Morpork bowlers worked together to keep the run rate high and they holed out. Thanks to ataraXIa picking up a bonus point Schmaltzberg still aren't last in the league phase and can dream of a play-off spot if we do a 6- or 8-team playoff.

A quick attempt at a team of the tournament so far- it's certainly blessed with allrounders, Van Heerdens could have been replaced with a more impressive bowler like Khattak, Chester, Sidebottom or Savundranayagam but the 3rd highest batting average got him into the team

Murray Crichton (Ash) /o
Menno Fouche (DyMo) /o
Tony Chung (FHK) /+
Tino Zikhungwini (Jura) /
Daniel Bennett (Ash) /
Cornelius Human (GG) /
Nalin Mittur (HH) /
Martijn Van Heerdens (DyMo) /o
Yin Lai O (FHK) o
Joshua Wong (FHK) o
Simon Lickley (ZCC) o

LOY with a return to form vs ZCC last night. Big win that for FHK!

ZCC in Cup action today. I set the lineup a few days ago, but couldn't get around to tweaking it for fitness levels/pitch :( Hope that doesn't cost us. Only a slight ratings advantage any playing away from home. They've gotten off to an excellent start as well.

A strong final 10 overs with the ball keeps Rouge Traders to just 260. Shah-boss hits 90 in the chase, Sajith a nice 53, and cameos all around as we win with 6 wickets and 6.3 overs to spare. w00t!

Round 5 of the Cup, the top 32 :D Have exceeded our global ranking making it this far! Best Cup Run in ages.

A quick apology /explanation for matches, invites, messages I did not respond to and chat here. I am just back from a campsite in France and it really was like a return to the 90's - which in some ways was good. Internet connection was dire and expensive though so I was reduced to doing the bare minimum in terms of logging in for non essential stuff- so everything has been a bit cack-handed - anyway back now and hoping to try and push for a promotion in DEV 3 this season- my chances in CWC though appear to have gone with the defeat to Winton

Enjoy yourselves!

Hope you had a good vacation and welcome back :) Will take the words about the lost CWC with a grain of salt ?

A great all round performance from the TMOs today to get their first win against GG CC. Bowlers held their nerve to keep the score to a reasonable target. And the batting chased it down in a very straight forward manner. Great from Tyagi and Reid. Good finishing by Katz. Kock did get himself run out again though!

Thanks for the game @SillyCowCorner1!

Every one of this singles against Ludlow and Frost gave me heart palpitations. But made it in the end. Won that game in the field with some luck. Good game @ataraxia.
My batting line-up is unsteady in DEVs and your bowlers exploited that well.

Odd SOD vs Schmaltzberg, I was suddenly 51-5 on a pitch as flat as a pancake before Jan du Preez (91* off 140, which dropped his career strike rate by 5 points) was joined by Kurt Murdoch (65 off 74) where he did another classic save from humiliation. 12 overs to go I was sitting on 179-5. 240 seems par, right? 6 overs to go, 193-5. Okay, that's worse, still should be able to get 225 easily though. Limped across to 213-7 against low-rated death bowling, with JdP hitting 3 off his last 14 deliveries. Keep in mind that du Preez and Murdoch are likely the best two aggressive batsmen in the team... Far below-par score but after a 28-dot-ball-streak and 3 wickets in the first 10 overs to leave DyS at 26-3 I should've been the favourite. A 54, 53, and 67* from the 4-5-6 proved that not so.

Congrats on ur maiden win against GG.

GG have been on the decline lately...maybe they are too tired or something else. Need to lift their morale up.

Sorry I haven't been able to do a writeup on the last round of CWC3 yet. Absolutely slammed at work atm. If anyone else would like to give it a go, please feel free!

ZCC pulled off an incredible chase in the Dev League today. 286 against the top-of-the-table side away from home! Grubs hit a wonderful 103 off 96, Garner a breezy 50, and Jamal Madani a career highest 69 off 46 - his highest Dev League score so far. Phenomenal win.

FHK going well atm too. Also bowling first away from home on a tricky pitch, have the hosts 76/6. 120 could be a really tough chase, especially since Tony Chung isn't playing. Fingers crossed.

Yes mate we are truly the spoonists of that league - it is a caning every week and i take getting a point from a match like a win. Our matches are my only wins so like gold dust- still its a bit of fun though i'm finding a bit of game overload as there are so many matches and doubling up each time- i basically play the same side and one bowls first and the other bats first !! neither impacts the outcome lol

I’m never joining a league like that ever again…every single team, barring yours and mine, is like over 60K us in rating.

I have made a default lineup and according to the conditions, drop or play the extra pacer.

A good win for Mooo’s young’uns today.
Batted first, and had a fine partnership of 112 for the 3rd wicket between Nazar (51) & Veenstra (75)…took us to 205/7 off the allotted overs.

4 wickets a piece for Andrew Short and Jamil Gul was just enough to bowl out Jackals for 160.
Gul picked up his career best figures in the process.
